Spot on! Many of the old musicians were philosophical with their lyrics, something the new generation of musicians seems to lack. King Sunny Ade stood at the very top of them all. His lyrics, beats and footwork are timeless classics. He isn’t called a King for nothing.
Mo Bẹ̀rù Àgbà: A Lesson on Respect for the Elderly and Reaping What We Sow.
Young ones who grew up in the age of "I don't owe my parents anything" and " Showing respect to older ones is servile", and those who believe that it's stupid to be upright can learn a lot from King Sunny Adé's song "Mo Bẹ̀rù Àgbà".

I have always loved King Sunny Ade from my teenage years. I remember listening to his music on those old black records—similar to discs, but bigger. Those records were part of my growing up years.
As I grew older, my love for KSA’s music only grew stronger. His sound, style and timeless artistry have remained special to me.
This is one of my all time favourites.

Today we celebrate the legendary King Sunny Ade (KSA), the global ambassador of Nigerian music, the undisputed King of Juju Music and a man whose career is decorated with remarkable “firsts.”

• The first Nigerian musician from a royal background to become King of his profession. Crowned as King of Juju Music in 1977 by the late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Alaafin of Oyo
• The first Nigerian musician nominated for a Grammy Award, in 1984.
• The first Nigerian musician to receive two Grammy nominations, in 1984 and 1990.
• The pioneer of the Hawaiian steel guitar in Juju music.
• One of the pioneers who revolutionised Juju music with modern instrumentation, including electric drums and other Western musical elements.
• The first Nigerian musician who brought an international superstar, Stevie Wonder, into his recording album titled "Aura", on which Wonder played keyboards.

Today, September 22, 2026, marks the 80th birthday of one of Nigeria’s most enduring musical treasures, Chief Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye, popularly known as King Sunny Ade (KSA).
But the celebration did not begin today. For the past 80 days, lovers of his music, culture and unmistakable style have joined in a special countdown celebrating the remarkable journey of this legendary musician. Today, September 22, the 80-day challenge finally comes to an end.
We are deeply grateful for his life, his remarkable career and the grace that has sustained him through the decades.
For many of us, this is more than a birthday celebration.
It is a celebration of six decades of music, performance, innovation, cultural preservation and international influence.
For 60 years, King Sunny Ade has remained a commanding presence in Nigerian music. Well, I’m not surprised. Two of a kind. BOG’s political career isn’t too different from that of GRV’s, they are both in the same “rubbish” category, in my view. The slight difference is that one appears to be surfing on political illusion, while the other is fighting to preserve his fading political relevance.
Honestly, one part of me wants to take this for content, but the other one keeps reminding me of the “headless mob”.
Believe it or not, there are plenty of them on these streets fine face, but absolutely no brain.
There is no reason adults like these should not know Obasanjo. Even if they were not born when he was president. They didn't go to school? What were they thought in school?
Unfortunately, people like these are the loudest on social media arguing politics.
