An (un)biased opinion about the $LIT price action

@Lighter_xyz delivered the best airdrop of 2025, no doubt, but it was also marked by some shady things.

When $HYPE dropped in late 2024, Bitcoin hadn’t reached 100k yet and crypto sentiment was at its peak. Back then, nobody cared about shady moves or clusters because the market was going up mega.

In contrast, when $LIT TGEd at the end of 2025, the bear market had already begun and perp DEX volumes were significantly down from their previous peak.

This preface just to put things in context.

Now let’s look at the chart.

After the TGE, $LIT printed +30% in the first week of January, in line with the broader crypto market, reaching the lower band of the pre-market zone.

Some context here:
- competitors launched $LIT pre-market before the TGE — good for hedgers, bad for price action (pure attack from competitors)
- key HL figures like MLM and others FUDded Lighter nonstop

When the market eased and $LIT failed to hold the TGE bottom, the price collapsed under heavy airdrop selling pressure in a very low-liquidity environment.

The first significant level was the last round valuation at $1.5, which remains the main recovery target. A big change happened: LLP depositors now need to stake $LIT to keep liquidity in the pool.

Since the end of the grace period, the token is down 34% and LLP TVL dropped from ~$410M to ~$218M (almost halved). That said, the entire market fell ~20% in the same period, so the LLP argument is almost neutral for the price action.

What’s wrong with $LIT?
In three words: lack of demand.

The altcoin market is down badly, and even $HYPE failed to sustain the “PURR DAT” pump, retracing the entire move. Nobody wants to long or hold altcoins after the 10/10.

Despite positive staking netflow (+1.63M 7d, +3.21M 24h-to-7d) and a relatively low float (55% of liquid supply staked), price action remains bearish and all the recovers resulted in LHs.

Where is the bottom?
I've left the positive part for the end.

The Lighter team has actually delivered in the months after TGE creating real utility for $LIT, listing more tickers (especially RWAs), and working toward the future LighterEVM release.

These bullish factors aren’t priced in yet, in my opinion, mainly because $LIT hasn’t bottomed vs Bitcoin since late January.
The chart shows this clearly: every time it bottomed vs BTC (triggering the Z-score bottom, vertical lines), it recovered strongly.
All in all, I think the bottom for $LIT is really close. The support vs BTC will likely mark the final test.

If it bounces from that support, we could see a sustained rally, especially since the SMA100 and SMA200 are very close and will force a strong directional move.
If the support fails, it’s gg and Lighter becomes a bleeder (ded).
