The @EmporiaSpartans WW1 & 2 students made some amazing Final Projects. We survived Trimester 1 too!!
Shout to @JDABird for implementing such a great project in the first place. The students blew me away today with their creativity! #EmporiaProud
APWH Autopsy of an Empire project turned out well! Students worked independently and in groups to investigate the rise of Land-Based Empires, but also the Decline/Fall of each Empire. I β€οΈ the creativity students used to display their Empires information. #EmporiaProud
Started our Monday morning off with an AP World History Escape Room over the Early America's! Everyone escaped successfully! #EmporiaProud@EmporiaSpartans @ApCollegeBoard_
My summer bucket list is complete β€οΈ WWI Museum in KC, the Auschwitz exhibit at Union Station, and the WWII Museum in New Orleans. So many amazing resources to bring into the classroom next year. Bring on the 21-22 school year!
Unpopular opinion...Classrooms should NOT be silent. If you could hear behind the masks, these ladies are writing letters to their Senior Selfs and reminiscing about this crazy school year. I'm so thankful we can end this school year together. Almost in HS! #EmporiaProud
I am so thankful for some "normalcy" in the classroom. My students were working on creating posters to teach their classmates about the early Industrial Revolution. There's something satisfying to see markers and paper again! #collaboration#AmericanStudies#EmporiaProud
Over the last 3 day weekend, the @253Techs set up my classroom with a new TV/Chrome box to replace my old Smartboard and desk top. This set up runs so smoothly...best upgrade ever! Thankful for a Tech department always willing to help a teacher out! @Emporia253#EmporiaProud
Often students are so afraid of "being wrong" that they're too afraid to even take a chance sometimes. It's important as eductors to show them it's okay to take a chance and be wrong...it's called LEARNING! β€οΈ
Here is this year's rendition of the John Gast, American Progress painting! Each student created their piece and then we put it all together. Not bad with half in person and half remote. I β€οΈ this activity as an introduction to Manifest Destiny!
My American Studies students have really enjoyed exchanging Virtual Valentine's on @padlet to students in Bulgaria!!! It has started so many conversations about where and what their culture is like across the world! β€οΈπ #k12valentines#EmporiaProud
There are some amazing teaching ideas that have come out of Remote Learning! Watching 3 breakout rooms collaborate on 3 different Google Jamboards is quite awesome! @GoogleForEdu#remotelearning
Yesterday, we got a surprise Thank You in our mailbox...this incredibly thoughtful note and an amazing t-shirt. Thank YOU Crouch family at MAXX Graphics for supporting us @EMSJrSpartans and @Emporia253#EmporiaProud
