In the summer of 2010, while touring the Cappuccini catacombs, I took this photo and set it as my Twitter profile pic…and never changed it…until today. Same corpse, new beard. #Sicily
@BishopBarron I also found it to be a brilliant commentary on the necessity of free will. Because God was seeking objects to love, humans had to be created with the choice of loving God, or rejecting God. Love that is not free is…well, demonic.
@tedcruz “ But because they are there renewed after the image of God, whether there is no sex; man is there made after the image of God, whether there is no sex, that is, in the spirit of his mind.” Augustine, ‘On the Trinity’, (Book XII, Ch. 7.12)
@tedcruz Senator, in your attempt to score political points, there is no need to sew theological confusion. It is a principle of orthodox theology from the earliest church Fathers that God is a non-gendered being. St. Augustine’s 12th chapter of “On the Trinity” is littered with it.
@lisa_4_la I thought you guys were pro capitalism and anti socialism. Vouchers aren’t going to send any middle class kids to 50k private schools. Why are you focusing on the price point? Selective outrage?
