Ratko Mladić was not a hero. He was a convicted war criminal, sentenced to life imprisonment for genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, including responsibility for the Srebrenica genocide.

After his death in The Hague, his body was brought back to Serbia on a Serbian government aircraft. His coffin was received by family members and government officials as supporters gathered to honour him. A formal state funeral has not been confirmed — but the scale of official involvement and public glorification is already deeply disturbing.

At Srebrenica, around 8,000 Bosniak Muslim men and boys were murdered.

Europe must draw a red line.

I call on the European Union to make absolutely clear:

❌ No glorification of convicted war criminals.
❌ No genocide denial.
❌ No rehabilitation of the ideology behind Srebrenica.
🇪🇺 No progress toward EU membership without a genuine commitment to European values, reconciliation and historical truth.

Serbia can choose its future.

Europe — or the cult of Mladić.
It cannot have both.

The victims of Srebrenica deserve remembrance.
The survivors deserve respect.
Europe owes Bosnia and Herzegovina clarity.

NO GLORIFICATION OF GENOCIDE.
NO EUROPEAN INTEGRATION WITHOUT EUROPEAN VALUES.
