HIE/interoperability plays a vital role during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Healthcare providers need to have quick and accurate access to patient's history in order to improve patient outcomes. This holds true in day-to-day clinical work as well.

Hospitals in the U.S are often seen as "high-tech" environments, but that doesn't have to stop nurses from providing patient centered care. Being transparent with patients about the tech being used and connecting on a human level is essential. #N703 #HIGHTECH

@NursingTheoryCo As a nursing student, we have whole lectures dedicated to learning theory. If instead theory was intertwined in our everyday practice, it would be made less abstract. Having students take something they saw on the floor during clinical and relate it to a nursing theory. #N703

@an2ny I believe involving nurses in every step of a design that they're meant to use daily is essential. Having nurse-ran educational sessions instead of an outside party doing a lecture can also help.

1) A challenge that nurses face in the workplace is technology design that is not intuitive, which causes delays in patient care.
2) Nursing informatics can help make this technology more intuitive and user friendly.

@JesseDeLong1 Yes, I agree that teaching/educating nurses on technology is essential to their success, but what do we do with seasoned nurses who refuse to adapt to this new technological shift? Or for those who are trying, but are below the learning curve?
