@ajarrodkimber Bit of a moot point given he scored a ton off 33 rocks, but biggest sign of his maturity for me is how much better he’s got a rotating strike in the powerplay when there’s fielders in the ring (only 3 dots on weds).
It was a bit block/bash when he first started with no inbetween
@has4n_18@user84848384 Jover naturally gets a lot of attention as he’s a trailblazer, but there’s no substitute for quality
i.e. 2 elite crossers + the most aerially dominant player itw
Interesting to know Arsenal’s success rate on set pieces not taken by Rice/Saka or when Gabriel isn’t on the pitch
22/23 - Massively outperformed for ~6 months, crumbled after few injuries, got battered by a significantly superior treble-winning City
23/24 - 5 points dropped post-new year & missed out, fine margins
24/25 - Not enough depth, never really in it
25/26 - Best team, no excuses
This is bang on re bottling narrative - this is the first season where it would actually be a bottle, and it’s looking like a wobble. Past seasons’ narrative is just trolling.
@henrymoeranBBC Situation would also have been avoided if India didn’t get to pick and choose where and when they play games at a supposedly ‘neutral’ international tournament
@SamJDean This is true, but also the nature of how different teams try to combat us. Fulham & Everton were prepared to sit in, defend deep and absorb pressure for long periods. Sporting & Palace pressed high and were able to generate more but also left space in behind and were punished.
