Mehdi is preparing and setting the ground for “fairly” criticizing Israel in a post-Netanyahu world. The truth is that the Mehdis and Mamdanis of the world need Netanyahu (just as much as Netanyahu needs them). They don’t actually care about about who’s in charge - their goal is to disband Israel, not to make it a better place. The extremist government under Netanyahu served as a shield that gave them plausible deniability of their antisemitic sentiment under the guise of fairly criticizing a right-wing govt.

I am sick and tired of people that pretend they aren’t antisemitic claiming that it is antisemitic to conflate Jews with Israel / the actions of Israel. The claim on its surface is correct. Yet the same people obsess over and repeatedly attack AIPAC, calling it an agent of a foreign government (Israel). And when we point out their antisemitism, they call us the antisemites for conflating Jews with AIPAC (agent of Israel). But AIPAC is a representative of American Jewry who support Israel! So if you’re calling American Jewry who support Israel (the members of AIPAC) a foreign agent of Israel, then you are very much conflating these American Jews and Israel!!

Such people know exactly what they’re doing. It’s simply disturbing how disingenuous they are, using mental gymnastics and performative rhetoric for plausible deniability of their obvious antisemitic sentiments.

By your logic, conflating Israel and Jews is anti semitic. Given you support Abdul El-Sayed’s attacks on Aipac positioned as attacks on a foreign government (even though ironically aipac is organized by American Jewry) and claim it’s not anti-Semitic since its targeting Israel and not Jews, then why is it islamaphobic to point out that AES is highly associated with someone who said America deserved 9/11. Sounds like you’re now conflating all Muslims with AES and Piker’s beliefs. So are you islamaphobic?

Last I checked someone’s sense of humor doesn’t make them idiotic. But their lack of reading comprehension sure does! For example I find it ‘idiotic’ that you could read through @afalkhatib ‘s post and simply dismiss his point by equivocating “well there were cafes in the ghettos.” Was it idiotic, or perhaps just intentionally misleading, to leave out the systematic killing of Jews happened in the death camps as the Nazis liquidated the ghettos. So one, the joke was comical. And two, you are dumb. Or just ideologically captured. You can choose.

No - news anchors should be reporting the reality on the ground. Hypothetically, a large percentage of Americans wanting Netanyahu arrested would be a reality on the ground that is newsworthy. But the fact that laws would be broken in doing so - hence their opinions that arresting him would be a mistake - is also a fair talking point.

Arguing that Argentina received preferential treatment throughout the World Cup is an incredibly fair talking point (numerous teams across different sports were given preferential treatment). My problem was the many conspiracies tying the preferential treatment to Zionist agents/Israel. Larry David should write a Curb episode that is a spiritual sequel to the Palestinian Chicken episode.

This time, the premise is that Larry is indifferent to the war in Israel/Gaza, but gets frustrated with the anti-Israel protests shutting everything down, yet appeases them with bashing Israel out of convenience.

An example would be a protest blocking traffic, and the crowd only letting Larry through after he gleefully says “free Palestine!”

The kicker would be Larry getting pitted between both sides with one side calling him a self-hating Jew and the other calling him a baby killer.

This would be an absolute banger
