A wonderful nuanced review by the marvellous Mary @Book_Craic ‘I really enjoyed that this story has a political focus with people trying to effect change through forms of protest as they felt the governing powers were out of touch with the people of the city’ Thank you Mary! 🤩

@thebookseller@JamilahSyal I think about this a lot: protest, what does it mean? How do we explain this to children? In the Peregrine books we do not see the POV of the protestor at first, just how they are perceived/painted. Peregrine has to learn WHAT they are protesting (and WHY) for herself.
ICYMI: Publishing should be a hub of debate, a literal host of dynamic and ever-evolving perspectives, says Jamilah Ahmed (@JamilahSyal).
"Publishing must face up to difficult conversations and events, not block them out" 👇
