fact is you guys played around in english class your entire lives, not taking it seriously, reading the materials through online plot summaries and now you wonder why you don’t actually understand anything
Stop forcing white pop culture to be a communal experience. You’re still black if you enjoy Paramore; bring it on or Disney channel. It doesn’t need to tie back to blackness
Really do think changing a residential property into an air b&b constitutes a change of use, and should require planning and public consultation. You're running a hotel now, and we've got random people in and out of our building. It's not a residential property anymore.
The literacy crisis isn’t just about people struggling to read words. It’s about losing the ability to understand context, infer meaning, question information, and form your own conclusions. And relying on AI to do all that thinking for us is only making the problem worse.
Why does it feel like people mostly either ignore degree modifiers or think you don't mean what you wrote.
I can say "generally," "usually," "mostly," etc. and someone will chime in with "not always" like. Yeah man that's what I meant. That was the purpose of using those words.
folks be coming on here lying for absolutely no reason. Like you can be at a bar and a $200k/yr job fall in your lap bc you black and “hungry?” lmao like ok man
if you use ai or chatgpt for college, i hope you flunk out. there is a literacy crisis and you shouldn’t get a degree if you’re not willing to apply yourself and do the work. waste of time and money just for you to not be able to the job you got a degree for.
one of the worst things to happen is ppl simplifying the meaning of “tricking” to “someone spending money on you,” so now ppl are saying things like “i love when my parents trick on me.” please stop talking like that lol
I miss when "taking a class" at the community center cost $40. Now it's $380 for six sessions of yoga, pottery, or cooking. They rebranded public education as "wellness experiences" and priced out the community. Enrichment became a luxury good with namaste branding.
Nothing should require an app. There should always be an alternative. You should always be able to leave your cell phone at home or not own one at all. This applies to everything but especially for something as basic as parking.
Nobody talks about how "parking" used to cost quarters. Now it's $8/hour, requires an app, won't take cash, and charges you a $2 "convenience fee" to pay digitally. You're paying a tech tax to leave your car in a painted rectangle. Public space has been monetized into oblivion.

-Phones are opt‑in. Flock is non‑consensual.
-I control my phone. I can’t ‘turn off’ my license plate.
-A phone can stay home. A car can’t.
-Phones track what you choose to digitize.
Flock tracks physical reality.
-Phone data is fragmented. Flock data is centralized.
-Physical movement = policing fuel: suspicion, patterns, retroactive justification.
It’s agency vs. inescapability.
That’s the difference.
people want you to do well, when you go on a date that person wants it to go well so they can stop dating. when you interview for a job they want it to go well so they can finally hire someone. people want to watch, read, hear and experience good things. we’re rooting for you
just saw “hey so it’s a pretty privileged take to say small businesses shouldn’t use AI for marketing when they can’t afford to hire a graphic designer and have no design skills”
please, what did all the small businesses do prior to just TWO years ago, I beg you to remember just TWO years ago
This guy nails it. This surveillance technology creates a system of default suspicion, or pre-crime, as he puts it, wherein we are all transformed into perpetual suspects in an infinite open police investigation that never ends.
