Liverpool Football Club celebrates its 134th birthday today ๐
The club officially came into existence on June 3, 1892, after founder John Houlding set about creating a new team on Merseyside that year ๐ด
A special story was underway... โจ
Francesco Totti: "The best player I faced? Steven Gerrard. A Champion! An example! He would be captain of my World XI dream team."
Lionel Messi: "I think Gerrard is England's greatest ever player."
Arsene Wenger: "He was a fantastic player who had the qualities that every midfielder dreams of. He scored goals, he could pass. He had commitment and motivation."
Kaka: "For me, and I have always said this, Gerrard will be regarded as one of the greatest midfielders ever when he finishes his career. No doubt."
Thierry Henry: "I find it a disgrace that he didn't win European Footballer of the Year in 2005 after Istanbul. For me, he is one of the best ever. Whenever you play Liverpool you know you have to get him out of the game. If not, it's all over for you."
Patrick Vieira: "The best midfielder I would say is Steven Gerrard. I really rate him as a player and a man."
Wayne Rooney: "The best player I'd played for England with? I'd have to say Stevie. For me he is an incredible player, an incredible leader. He helped me a lot during my early days with England."
Paul Scholes: "Who was better - me or Gerrard? I can answer that. Gerrard. Gerrard's a great player. I wouldn't be able to do what he did at Liverpool."
Zinedine Zidane: "I have said in the past that at his peak he was the best in the world. I think it was the summer of 2004 I was having a conversation with Florentino (Perez) and I told him I wanted him to partner me in midfield for Madrid."
Andrea Pirlo: "That night in Istanbul, Liverpool's fight back was centralised on Steven Gerrard. He was their leader, their star player, their man who made it happen."
Pele in 2007: "For me, for the last five years Gerrard has been the best player in the world."
Andoni Iraola on why he chose Liverpool despite interest from multiple clubs:
๐ฃ๏ธ โI had many conversations with different clubs, very big clubs, very ambitious projects, all trying to convince me.
But for me, there was one decision that felt different from the beginning.
Liverpool is not just another job in football.
It is a club with identity, history, pressure, and emotion like few others in the world.
It has always been a dream of mine to manage at Anfield, even before I became a manager at this level.
And I have to be honest, one conversation changed everything for me.
I spoke with Jรผrgen Klopp.
He didnโt try to convince me in a normal way he spoke about the club, the fans, the responsibility, and what it means to lead Liverpool.
He told me: โIf you ever get the chance, donโt think twice. At Liverpool, you donโt just manage a teamโฆ you carry a feeling.โ
That stayed with me. After that call, my decision was made.
Other clubs offered projects, money, structureโฆ but Liverpool offered something else. Belief. Expectation. Pressure.
And history that demands you give everything every single day.
I didnโt come here to take part. I came here because this is the club I always dreamed of leading.
And now that Iโm here, I understand exactly what Klopp meant.โ
Michael Jackson had 3,000 dancers auditioningโฆand he picked HER.
This Sri Lankan Odissi queen brought 2000-year-old temple fire to the โBlack or Whiteโ video and absolutely cooked MJ on the highway ๐ค
Nobody talks about this partโฆ but itโs lowkey one of the coldest cultural moments in music history.
Look at her explaining how thrilling it felt . โค๏ธ
@_KingAries LMAWO!! ๐คฃ Every other club fan did too but today is a glorious day for us Pool fans!! Thanks for number 20 and we wish you the best anywhere else but Anfield!!
The hardest part about this season has been watching and listening to every person say how bad and shitty we have played but this sums up what my beloved club and players have been suffering with โฆwhat even a new coach has had to deal with. #Forever20
๐จ๐จ๐๏ธ| Andy Robertson on Jotaโs death:
โI was at one of my best friendโs wedding, helping the groom get ready, when the club called me and told me about Diogoโs death. I went to the car park and just fell to the floor.โ Very Devastating ๐๐ฅฒ
#JaniceNix deserved the death penalty the same way but worse. They should have thrown a microwave in scorching bath water while she was in prison. That poor little 5 year old baby ๐๐ญ may her soul rest in peaceโฆ
A woman has been found guilty of killing her five-year-old stepdaughter by forcing her into a scalding hot bath in Thornton Heath, south London, in 1978. #JaniceNix, 67, was convicted of the manslaughter of Andrea Bernard, who suffered severe burns to half her body and died in hospital five weeks later.

He doesnโt follow records, records follow him. ๐
Years it took to win the PL trophy:
Klopp: 5
Arteta: 7
Net Spend:
Klopp: ยฃ63m
Arteta: ยฃ540m
By the time Arteta won the league, Klopp won every trophy possible.
Put some respect on Jurgen Kloppโs name.
