I asked for an NRSV journal Bible for Christmas so I can start making my own decisions about my spirituality. I also promised Saints Anne, Francis, and Anthony that I would devote myself to studying folk Catholicism. Here are my favorite things I've found so far:
I've been documenting when my son eats and sleeps and compared it to how often professionals say that a 3 month old should eat and sleep. Then I made schedule and stuck to it and I've literally had the best day 😭 home boy is in his crib napping.
But to her no time had passed. A fun way to spend her time. She didn't feel disappointment. She achieved what she set out to do. Productivity is not a word in her vocabulary.
Blessed ignorance. Sweet naivety.
She spent her entire evening sorting and stacking. They would tumble. She would try again. She rushed to show me her achievement.
Had it been me, a well seasoned adult, I would be disappointed in my lack of achievement for an entire evening. And me, as her mother, did feel sad that she sat alone in a room for an entire evening.
Now that I'm the parent of two littles I realized I always bring a snack or a yummy beverage in the car with me. Because they're strapped in their carseats and I can have a moment's peace.
4yo has started wearing headphones all the time because she thinks we can't hear her when she's got them on 😂 the things she talks about with her dolls is hilarious
