What an amazing evening at @HomeOfCricket. Hard to describe the thrill of winning such a prestigious award against stiff competition. Thanks to so many people who made Victory in Australia happen. Couldn’t resist a photo with Len Hutton! @BloomsburySport@CricketSociety

A chance to buy Victory in Australia at a bargain price.
Deal: Victory in Australia: The Remarkable Story of England's Greatest Ashes Triumph 1954-55 https://t.co/I9c541woPe
Hearing the sad news 1975 WC winner Bernard Julien has died. A handsome, talented all-rounder, BJ carried the impossible burden of being labelled the “next Sobers”, but still thrilled with bat and ball. RIP.
@Ribs72 @ListerProd @gavethecrowd I spoke to Paul about this. I agree with Jimmy A that the very notion of the WI has outlived its purpose. It was a vehicle for independence and self assertion in the wider world, but that motivation is no longer there. However, money cures all ills. But where will it come from?
All Aussie fans should read @RWhitehead61’s masterly new book on the 1954-55 Ashes. A timely reminder that if Pat’s boys aren’t on the job, the Poms will snatch the urn back, just like they did under Hutton 70 years ago. It’s also a superbly crafted work. Book of the year IMHO.
Sad to see Simmo go. Australian cricket would not be the same without him. I caught up with him in 2019, 38 years after our first contact, and he was still fighting the good fight.
Test wicketkeeping legend and second oldest living West Indian Jackie Hendriks’ new autobiography is an engrossing read. Available at https://t.co/lfEP8cJSlG
New book available now. Syd Emery toured England in 1912 but there is much more to the life of “Mad Mick”. Please message me if you would like a copy directly through me.
Another fine Scribes lunch at the Hero of Waterloo and an excellent talk from Max Bonnell on the art of scribing and his new book Brick by Brick: The Australian Cricketers in England 1964.
