I see comments like these far to often. The defense mechanism to assume the critic is misinformed rather then looking inward at your own beliefs past face value. Many members see the gospel being true like everyone recognizes the sky being blue, rather then as an objective belief

Imo Under the Banner of Heaven shows that the Lafferty’s were not normal. It’s not normal to murder people and excuse it by claiming it’s from God. Yet, it was based on true events the family experienced and brought some church history to light.
