New publication alert! "Labile carbon dynamics under initial transition to regenerative agriculture". We used three strengths of KMnO4 to measure labile carbon during the initial transition to regenerative agriculture at four locations of South Asia.

We also documented the early lessons learned during the transition that may help to identify early challenges to the later success of regenerative farming in the region.
We compared early stage crop performance and economics of a conventional and regenerative cropping system during the initial transition years in the Upper Midwest USA.

Conversion to no-till = no change; conversion to switchgrass = no change; only restoration of diverse native prairie resulted in increases in #soilcarbon. It's all about the roots. Would have been nice to measure deeper than 25 cm.
