The most rewarding phase of equity investing often comes after the most frustrating one.
Over the last 15 years, almost all of Nifty 500’s wealth creation came in just four one-year bursts, separated by long stretches of little or no returns.
With nearly two years of subdued returns behind us, perhaps it’s worth asking:
What if the bigger risk isn’t enduring this phase, but giving up before the next one?
History offers no guarantees. But it does offer something worth thinking about!
130 million off the rolls says CJP-Congress? Not so - likely closer to 7 million, less than 1 % of those eligible to vote. None should be excluded. True. But a Goebbelsian lie repeated ad nauseam does not convert it into truth.

Prashant Jain in a note on 1 October -
India is well-positioned to handle this environment of rising yields. The impact of FII selling
will likely be short-lived. Given the last two years of market consolidation, normalised valuations,
relative underperformance to EMs, and light FII positioning, we believe the next few weeks are likely
to offer a compelling opportunity for medium- and long-term investors.
I don't actively track the markets like I used to. So, I see only a few things once a while that I find useful. This is among them. Simple, on-point. Good one @ICICIPruMF
The situation was quite like 9/11.
Terrorist trained to be a pilot, looks for an opportunity to enter the cockpit, and then kill the captain to eventually take control of the plane & crash it.
This plan was even more foolproof. The terrorist was the co-pilot, no need of announcing a hijack, had an axe instead of a box-cutter, and just had to neutralise one pilot instead of two.
Imagine the bravery of the Indian pilot, who was relentlessly being attacked by an axe, yet managed to relay the signal of a hi jack. And MOST IMPORTANTLY opened the cockpit door so that others can enter. Saved 100+ lives.
The Gujarati pilot, Smit deserves the biggest bravery award. 🙏
My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.
Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.
He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.
I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.
He is a true hero.
Prashant Jain’s view for the next 3 years.
Challenge is not that these returns will not come. It’s about when does it come?
All of it could come in the third year may be. How patient can you remain?

Today I had a discussion with one senior office bearer of an MSME organisation, and he clearly said, "India does not have a dearth of jobs. India has a dearth of willing people who want to do jobs."
Most upskilling institutions and projects funded by the government are not bringing any result because they are not able to find willing people to upskill. Most industrialists of MSME nature are looking for more qualified, skilled people. They are unable to find them so far.
So the govt cannot be blamed for this totally. They have tried. Something the youth will also need to do besides making reels
