We would like to thank Shabs for giving everything for our club and our fan culture.

We are brothers for life. A bond that can never be broken.

We made the decision to put a public face to The 1958 knowing full well there would be attacks online. We expected it. We were prepared for it.

What followed went way beyond that.

Full on abuse. Personal attacks. Constant shit aimed at an individual because he stood up and put his face above the parapet.

No matter how thick skinned you are, that has an effect.

Our friends at TRA have suffered similar abuse and have pulled their online presence, abuse also aimed at other good, hardworking people across our fan groups. We are not naming names here.

Frankly, it’s getting fucking ridiculous.

We once had one of the most revered and respected fanbases in Europe.

Look at us now.

Too often we reflect the very ownership we despise. Toxic. Rotten. Fickle.

If we’re ever going to fix that, it starts with acceptance.

Then honesty.

Then supporting each other.

There are accounts on here that simply aren’t worth a fuck. We won’t waste another ounce of energy on them.

And we will NOT be putting another individual in the firing line.

Instead, we’ll take it back to the streets and continue building the relationships and connections we’ve spent years developing.

None of this is easy.

You need an unbreakable resolve and good, honest people around you to keep getting back up and moving forward.

OTHER AVENUES

We are also considering building an online network of accounts and people we believe are credible, honest and authentic.

Because without trust you have fuck all.

And without trust you cannot make progress.

And remember this.

We are all human.

Mental health and wellbeing are real. The fact you’re typing into a phone rather than standing face to face looking somebody in the eyes doesn’t change that.

This fanbase needs healing.

It needs picking up off the floor.

So, have a listen carefully and have a play. This and what we do next should tell you everything you need to know about who we are as a group and, more importantly, who we are as individuals, our characters and our conviction.

For 12 months we have worked relentlessly for a more unified fanbase across key groups and across club boundaries.

It has been beyond frustrating at times, but we keep moving forward because the bigger picture matters.

But unity does not mean abandoning your principles.

What we will NEVER tolerate is a breach of confidence or anything that compromises our integrity, individually or collectively.

We have seen private group chats screenshotted and shared before. Private conversations leaked. All for a bit of attention and a “look at me” clout chase. Not our kind of people.

You know who you are.

We make absolutely no apologies for calling it out, this has been our approach since we formed.

Its all on our timeline from day one so it should come as no surprise.

Unity requires trust.
Trust requires integrity.
And without either, you have fuck all.

Finally, for those giving constant personal abuse to people who have given their own time, energy and money for nothing in return says a lot more about you than anything else.

Carry on chatting shit with “You’ve been paid off by the Glazers” and all the other bollocks.

We are but 20 lads (19 now) who have done nothing but give 100% and a voice for fans.

Many decent honest lads are being driven away, not by the Glazers or INEOS but by our own kind.

We are not each others enemy and many seem to have lost sight of that.

The last couple of days have been a massive win for the club and the Glazers. Well done to all involved.
