The Man who Spearheaded India's Biometric Aadhaar Revolution and Mapped 1.4 Billion Citizens Has Just Been Flagged As "Unmapped" By His Own State's Government Electoral Database.
You absolutely cannot make this Irony Up. Shameful actually.
Nandan Nilekani ji and His Entire Family Have Been Placed In The "No-Mapping" Category Because System Officials Failed To Link Their Modern Identity Back To Historical Records.
If The Absolute Godfather Of India's Digital Identity Infrastructure Can Get Instantly Tangled In A Bureaucratic Tech Glitch, What Chance Does The Average Citizen Even Have 🥺😭😭😭
SIR Could Have Been Implemented Much Much Better. The Government Needs to Introspect.

It is concerning how enggs are losing their grip on their systems. Not just on the low-level code, but on the end-to-end flow of their systems as well.
I think there are two reasons for this:
1. Everything is in a hurry now. We are constantly optimizing for faster delivery, so there is less time to understand how things actually work.
2. We are moving towards higher-order abstractions. What could have been 5 well-documented steps explaining how things work is now abstracted away into poorly maintained skill files.
Btw, abstractions do not eliminate complexity. They just move it somewhere else.
So when a rare and complex issue shows up, it takes relatively longer to understand, diagnose, and fix the problem.
The happy path got faster. Yay! But failure path got longer. And that is a tradeoff we are not talking about enough.
🚨 Bengaluru’s 5-star hotels and resorts, including Four Seasons and Shangri-La, were found with expired milk, rotten meat, and fungus-covered vegetables. 🙏
- At The Lalit Ashok (Annex South), officials seized and destroyed 76 kg of meat, 200 kg of vegetables, and 32 liters of expired milk.
- At Shangri-La, 15 kg of meat were seized.
- At Four Seasons Hotel, officials confiscated 19 kg of meat.
- At Vivanta Bengaluru Whitefield, three kg of expired bakery products were destroyed.
- At Taj Yeshwantpur, officials seized 72 kg of meat and fish.
- At Radisson Blu (The Atria), authorities seized and destroyed 105 kg of expired food articles.
In the coming few years, most engineers will heavily rely on AI to build software. Loops will produce and review code, while engineers will be out of the loop, figuratively and literally.
The final product, which is supposed to be used by humans, is unrecognizable by the engineers who built it. Bugs and performance issues will arise, and the engineers will go back to the loops to fix them.
The loops will fix the bugs but produce more others. Eventually, we will reach a stage where we can’t possibly know what is wrong with the system, because the agent built its own framework, libraries and abstraction that only it understands.
The product will get into a state where no one can read or understand the code and only the loops can fix them.
Loops need tokens, and engineers will have no choice but to shovel them like coal into the Titanic’s boilers.
Very few engineers will be able to understand and troubleshoot systems. Those rare engineers who kept their skills sharp will be in high demand when we reach that state.
By all means use AI but not to an extent it dulls your critical thinking.
30 years from now India will be an example of how social media ruined a country.
If everyone is sick, we no longer call it a disease.
One such disease that's widespread in India today is watching reels for hours and hours. India has cheap and fast data. People have a lot of time and there are millions of unemployed youth so what are they doing? Doom scrolling.
You see around, every single person is scrolling reels. People are scrolling while commuting in bus, train, cabs. They scroll just after waking up and just before sleeping, while eating and even during traffic signal. You'll see people scrolling in office and even when they are with friends and family.
Even children today are scrolling. They won't have food without reels or shorts. Imagine how are we raising our upcoming generation? Adults and children both are spending 3-4 hours on social media everyday. That's 25% of waking hours. Everyone's brain is rotten, foggy and fried so how we as a nation will be productive?
This should be treated as an epidemic and the least our government can do is to ban social media for kids just like Australia did a while ago.
In my Applied AI Cohort, at the end, when we chit-chat, someone asked this question: Given that AI is generating most of the code, is it even useful to learn new languages deeply? Here is my take.
You should learn at least one programming language really well - like, really, really well - and know the specifics of others.
For example, if you are building something in Go for the first time, you can get far by prompting your way through it. You can ship working code without knowing the basics.
But yes, you can read the code, but can you truly understand it? Let me double down...
Go has goroutines and channels. Rust has ownership and lifetimes. These are not syntax details; they are mental models.
AI can generate code in a language you do not know, but it cannot generate intuition for a language you have never understood.
When a deadlock happens, memory usage balloons, or a race condition surfaces, you need that mental model to reason about it. AI cannot hand you that reasoning.
According to me, what AI changes is the ramp-up time - more specifically, syntax friction. That cost is now close to zero. The remaining work is the interesting part: building intuition for how the language thinks.
So, you do not need to memorize every standard library method in every language. But you do need to deeply understand at least one language and then pick up the specifics of others as needed.
That depth in one language gives you the mental model to reason about all the others.
As engineers, our job is to solve problems, not necessarily to write code.
Hope this helps.
We can do orders of magnitude more with agents, but it turns out that building bug free reliable software still takes a huge amount of effort. Now that we can do more, we have to much even more effort into making the software reliable.
You can see these companies crank out more features, but rarely are they high quality. You can feel the jank after the honeymoon phase of the first 5 minutes of use.
Kota coaching centres closing, engineering colleges are closing, tech coaching centres in banglore & hyd have way less students which used to be there.
More than AI, war & tariffs people are tired. No one wants to hustle. The incentives are bad. Govt squeeze people like lemons.
Hi @RailwaySeva ,
If a passenger accidentally enters the wrong age by 1–2 years while booking an IRCTC ticket (e.g., 38 instead of 40), is there any issue during ticket checking?
Is there any official rule or guideline for this?
@FI_InvestIndia@svembu I use @ZohoMail with my personal domain after moving from M365. Mail UI is good, but features like Streams aren’t useful for single users. The UI especially Admin Center feels very enterprise-heavy. A simpler mode for solo users would help as more people adopt personal domains.
@svembu Option 2 would be better, and there can still be some cloud backup with a secret key, where users need to remember that and while restoring they need to enter that.
Recently, @signalapp has added this feature with a certain limit (all chat & 45 days of media).
At 70L CTC, more than 60% of my money is taxed at the highest slab of 30%. An additional 4% cess + 10% surcharge makes it 35%.
Apart from that most of the items electronics, services we buy except groceries are taxes at 18%.
There is a huge education burden too.

Dear @narendramodi ji,
For the inauguration of Darbhanga Railway Station, you attended via Video Conferencing. The station is full of plaques with your name on it. Why is tax payer money wasted like this?
Each tax payer works hard and gives tax for development. But when we see money spent like this, it's not ok.
Please strictly instruct your team to stop such things sir. Asking my X Family to share their comments as well.

Yearly calling plans with unlimited Internet Access costs under ₹4000 per year.
But our MPs can claim:
~₹12500 per month for calls
~₹2200 per month for Wifi
This needs to be updated @narendramodi ji.

Most people start out curious - excited to build, to learn, to create.
But over time, the spark fades under deadlines, burnout, and noise.
If you still feel that spark, nurture it. It’s what makes the craft special.
India needs a revolution
“ No Roads, No Tax “
“ No Pavements, No Tax “
Roads and Pavements should be free of potholes, speed breakers, dust, garbage, stray animals, encroachments.
India is just asking for very basic things from its government.
