This experience highlights how insurance companies may try to avoid responsibility through technicalities. I hope #NivaBupa will oblige and close this matter promptly. #IRDAI#InsuranceClaim
Update: After complaining to the Insurance Ombudsman and a subsequent hearing, the insurer Niva Bupa has been directed to provide compensation.
While this is a positive step, it comes almost 9 months after the incident and required time, persistence, and multiple follow-ups.
When my return flight from Tashkent to Delhi was cancelled in April due to airspace closure, I reached out to @Niva_Bupa for support under my travel insurance policy. What followed shows how broken their claim support system is. 🧵
Ordered #GooglePixel 9 on @Flipkart#BBD sale midnight. Got order and payment confirmation, even shipping msg. Next morning: order cancelled. Reason? “Payment flagged” 🤦♂️ Tons of users report same scammy cancellations.
#Flipkart is running a bait & switch in the name of a sale.
Anti-consumer at its peak. 😡
#Amazon, at least, has better customer service.
If #GooglePixel wants to maintain its brand respect in India, they should make their devices available there.

On the basis of that confirmation, I booked a new ticket at my own cost.
But when I submitted the claim, it was rejected.
Even after I shared the evidence of their own confirmation with the grievance team, they tried to cover it up with wordplay:
“eligibility” vs “admissibility.”
Insurance is supposed to provide clarity and support in emergencies.
In my case, #NivaBupa’s delays, misinformation, and reversal of their own assurances made a difficult situation worse.
Companies must be accountable when their communication misleads customers.

This is the problem.
If a consumer, stranded abroad, seeks guidance in good faith and is told their case is covered, they should be able to rely on it.
A company cannot mislead customers with assurances and then deny responsibility by hiding behind semantics.
Not sure if it’s just me, but the new liquid glass UIs seem a bit questionable from an accessibility perspective?
Text over blurred backgrounds looks sleek, but I’m not entirely sure how they’re handling contrast.
Will blurring really make it readable enough?

Feeling the pain of missing playback speed controls on Reels and Shorts? 😩 I always found it frustrating, especially wanting to watch everything at my preferred 1.5x speed! Even on sites like YouTube, the speed setting often resets after each session.
