I gave an AI agent passwordless sudo on a box in my house, on purpose.
Hermes runs native, not in a container, so it can actually see terraform, kubectl, aws, gh. The boundary isn't a sandbox, it's a Telegram allowlist + a dashboard password.
How it's wired:
Opus 5: half the price of Fable 5, near-flagship numbers.
But the default that bites is quiet: thinking is ON now, so your max_tokens can truncate mid-answer. And "double-check your work" prompts backfire, because it self-verifies.
What actually changes on migration:
Sonnet 5 dropped. I went looking for what changed under the hood.
Anthropic won't publish architectural details. So I read the 146-page system card, and realized I didn't actually know what any of the benchmark names meant.
Wrote a plain-English guide to all of them.
🧵👇
