@maxtempers 20 yrs ago I would take 50k as it would have made a meaningful difference. Now I would take the 50/50 because 50k would be nice but I can do without it.

A variation on the "Boots" theory. I can afford to miss 50k. Someone poor cannot, so miss the opportunity for 1 million.
