@_InfinitePest_@esjesjesj@Eve_Barlow Vegetarianism is not the same as "wanting a universally-recognized good". Consider someone protesting the war in Syria: "Wanting children to live is not Islamophobic." That could reasonably be interpreted as "Muslims don't want children to live."
@KJFlautist@WarFrontIntel@Eve_Barlow Antisemitism is rarely obvious. It begins subtly, but history has shown that when left unchecked it can grow with devastating consequences. That is why I believe Jews have a right to call it out when they see it, just as the accused have a right to respond if/how they see fit.
@KJFlautist@WarFrontIntel@Eve_Barlow It's not that she "is not dividing her philanthropy eggs into all available baskets" but rather that chose to put all the eggs into the one basket that implicates Jews. That's clear evidence of antisemitism.
@KJFlautist@WarFrontIntel@Eve_Barlow One can sympathize more or less with different people, but that's not what she did. Her entire focus is on one group, involving one alleged perpetrator - one side of a two-sided war. It's logical to assume that this was driven by prejudice.
@KJFlautist@WarFrontIntel@Eve_Barlow When the sympathy is exclusively directed to one side of one conflict, yes - I think it is unusual, and it can certainly be interpreted as problematic. If numbers were a factor, she would have advocated for the many more kids killed in the Syria conflict, for example.
@the_man_enjoyer@TheMMALawyer@WarFrontIntel@Eve_Barlow I did, and I'll repeat: If Israel wanted to maximize casualties they would not have taken exceptional measures to minimize them: firing warning shots, issuing evacuation notices, and providing humanitarian aid.
@KJFlautist@WarFrontIntel@Eve_Barlow Had she expressed concern or advocated for the lives of all kids (not just those killed on one side of the war), I would probably accept that argument. (And had she done so all along, she wouldn't have been accused of antisemitism in the first place.)
@KJFlautist@WarFrontIntel@Eve_Barlow Finally a smart question.
I would argue that hairstyle is an inaccurate comparison, because it isn't binary - there are countless options and possibilities. Life and death, semitism and antisemitism - these are more black and white concepts to me. Either you are, or you aren't.
@Dr_zato317@WarFrontIntel@Eve_Barlow Read my post again - I didn't claim to neutralize any positives or negatives. I merely pointed out that from the negative, one can infer a positive.
@NinaHurricann @WarFrontIntel@DaleCoo69075388@TheMMALawyer@Eve_Barlow Putting words in my mouth again, because you have no actual argument.
If only you had not started a genocidal war, I wouldn't have to defend myself and risk your life and mine.
@the_man_enjoyer@TheMMALawyer@WarFrontIntel@Eve_Barlow I'm glad this conversation has evolved from "She's not saying Israel want dead kids" to "actually, she is saying that and it's true." Israel was forced to defend itself against a Genocidal terrorist group which used their own children as human shields.
