“You got promoted with Enzo and have been shit since then”
Spot on from Russell Martin, completely showing up a moronic fan who gets their opinions from social media. #LCFC
Leicester City were newly promoted to the Premier League in 2014, won the league in 2016, reached the Champions League, won the FA Cup and eventually ended up in League One.
That is the normal financial reality for smaller clubs that experience momentary success.
Newcastle are another example.
They got extremely wealthy owners through the Saudi-led takeover, but financial regulations meant they couldn't simply throw unlimited money at transfers. The Premier League's financial rules are specifically designed to restrict spending relative to what clubs generate.
Then you look at Manchester City.
They were promoted back to the Premier League in 2002. Six years later, the Abu Dhabi-backed takeover happened, and suddenly City began investing heavily in recruitment, infrastructure and commercial growth.
Today, Manchester City are one of the biggest financial powers in world football.
So I have to ask:
Where is the fairness in all of this?
Why is a club like Leicester allowed to experience a period of success and then eventually fall all the way down to League One, while Manchester City were able to transform their financial position and become a global superpower?
And I'm not saying smaller clubs shouldn't be allowed to grow.
I'm saying the rules shouldn't create a situation where the established financial powers can protect their position while clubs trying to break into that group face increasingly strict restrictions.
Manchester City deserve to be punished if the allegations and charges against them are proven.
Because if Leicester can go from Premier League champions to League One, then the consequences for clubs that breach the rules should be serious enough to actually mean something.
The whole point of financial regulation is to protect competitive balance.
So let's see that principle applied consistently.
Where is the fairness?
HOLD ON A MINUTE… WHO ACTUALLY OWNS THE BLOODY BOAT?
They want to pursue Danny Tommo over alleged criminal damage.
Fine.
So let’s start with the obvious question.
Who is going to come forward and say, “That’s my boat”?
Who bought it?
Who owns it?
Where’s the paperwork?
Who is claiming the damage?
And what exactly is the alleged loss?
Because surely you can’t have criminal damage without someone actually claiming that their property has been damaged.
So I’m asking the question:
WHO OWNS THE BOAT?
I didn’t think RM was the right man for L1, but the hate and boos are wrong. Judge him in May. The goal is to be promoted. We might still be promoted. It’s September. Getting promoted is more important than the football style we play. We are one win off play offs. #LCFC
Just on the back of this, I’m not blaming Russell Martin for today’s result. As far as I’m concerned, that lays at the players’ door.
You can’t create that many chances, play against 10 men and only put the ball in the net once. Today’s result is down to the players.
I’m asking the question about Russell Martin in general — after seven league games plus the cup games.
What do you make of the Russell Martin era so far? 👀🦊💙

“Through the good times and the bad, we always back the lads” was sung at the start of the game, whilst at full time, some of the same fans booed 18-21 year old players, who have been carrying the experienced players for the last 3/4 games, is quite embarrassing tbh. #lcfc
Oliver Skipp’s dismissal, Russell Martin’s possession obsession in League One, naively playing across the back, defeat and despair, so much wrong on-field with Leicester City. Players and coach have to take more responsibility. And apply more suitable tactics.
But the main issue is the ownership. Leicester’s paralysis and drift down the leagues is largely a King Power issue. The family and the firm have done so much for the Club and the city down the years. But they have to go. Time to sell. But to the right people. Much right about Leicester - stadium, training ground, fanbase, academy. They just need better leadership and recruitment. #LCFC
@ShabanaMahmood I’m horrified by the 250,000 girls that have been raped by YOUR fellow Pakistani Muslims
England would be much better if all you dirty muslims got sent back to your shit sharia nations
This is the most shocking footage of discrimination that you will ever see.
A white boy being handcuffed by police officers more concerned by an accusation of racism than an act of murder.
This must be a turning point. White lives matter too.
They've blown up our kids at a pop concert butchered tots at a dance class, blown up busses & tube, beheaded soldiers in the street, raped our children on an industrial scale, now murdered Jews outside a synagogue but it's white middle-class men who are driving division. @GBNEWS
