[EXCLUSIVE] Prosecutors seek arrest warrant for Kim Seui over ‘defamation of #KimSoohyun’ charges - “Concern over extreme choice, detention needed”
Kim Seui, the head of Gaseyeon, who is in a legal dispute with actor Kim Soohyun after broadcasting claims that the late Kim Saeron dated him since she was a minor, will appear in court on May 26 to receive a suspect questioning before arrest.
According to this paper’s reporting, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office on the 19th requested an arrest warrant, saying, “The reasons for requesting an arrest warrant against the suspect (Kim Seui, Gaseyeon representative) in the case of violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (distribution of filmed materials using cameras, etc.) are considered sufficient.”
The warrant review hearing for Kim Seui will take place on May 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Seoul Central District Court.
Earlier, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, which investigated the case after Kim Soohyun’s complaint, listed these reasons for detention:
△ seriousness of the crime
△ risk of repeated offenses
△ concern over destruction of evidence and escape
△ concern over harm toward the victim and important witnesses.
In the arrest warrant request submitted to prosecutors on May 14, police stated:
“Without properly checking the truth, the suspect repeatedly claimed through YouTube broadcasts and press conferences that the complainant (Kim Soohyun) dated and had sexual relations with the deceased (Kim Saeron) when she was a minor, and that pressure from the complainant’s side over debt repayment caused the deceased’s death.”
“After receiving KakaoTalk chat capture materials from the bereaved family showing conversations between the deceased and someone labeled ‘Unknown,’ the suspect inserted the complainant’s photo into the KakaoTalk profile section of ‘Unknown’ and changed the conversation partner’s name from ‘Unknown’ to the complainant, making it appear as if the chats were real conversations between the complainant and the deceased.”
“Even while fully aware that the identity of the person the deceased had spoken with was not confirmed, the suspect uploaded manipulated KakaoTalk materials to make them appear to be real conversations with the complainant. In addition, during a press conference, he played a voice file of the deceased allegedly altered with AI and claimed false facts, saying, ‘The deceased first had sexual relations with the complainant during the winter vacation of her second year of middle school, and the complainant’s side tried to persuade the informant of the recording file by offering 4 billion won in exchange for the file.’”
“The suspect broadcast several materials related to the complainant, including a photo allegedly showing the complainant washing dishes at the deceased’s home, and applied psychological pressure by saying, ‘If there is no apology or statement to the bereaved family, additional private materials will be revealed.’ There is considerable reason to suspect crimes including spreading false information, defamation, and violation of the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation).”
“If the suspect, who is already involved in multiple investigations and trials, is additionally indicted in this case, he is likely very aware of the weight of the criminal responsibility he may face. There is a strong possibility that he may act uncooperatively in criminal procedures or attempt to flee in order to avoid legal and financial disadvantages.”
“Furthermore, the suspect is expected to be under considerable pressure due to participation in political rallies and protests, along with the various economic and social controversies surrounding him. If he is indicted and put on trial in this case, his psychological support system could collapse.”
[Exclusive] Police: “Kim Saeron’s Voice Manipulated by AI… Kim Soohyun’s Relationship with a Minor Is False”
While the prosecution has requested an arrest warrant for Kim Se-ui, head of the Garo Sero Research Institute, on charges of defaming actor Kim Soohyun, the police have concluded, based on their investigation, that the claim of a relationship between the actor and the late actress Kim Saeron during their minor years is false.
According to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station’s application for an arrest warrant against CEO Kim, confirmed by the JoongAng Ilbo on the 21st, it appears he disseminated false information about actor Kim with economic motives, such as YouTube earnings. The police stated, “(The suspect) distributed false information with the intent to slander him, despite being well aware that actor Kim had not dated the deceased since he was a minor.” It was revealed that
the KakaoTalk conversation logs, which CEO Kim released last March as evidence of the relationship, were fabricated. According to the police, after receiving 11 screenshots of conversations between the deceased and "(Unknown)" from the bereaved family last year, CEO Kim edited and manipulated a total of seven instances, including changing the name of the conversation partner to "Kim Soo-hyun." The police noted, “(The suspect) posted the fabricated material to make it appear as if it were a real conversation between the two, even though he was well aware that the conversation partner had not been identified.” The police also determined that the deceased’s voice file, released by CEO Kim’s side last May, was manipulated using artificial intelligence ( AI ).

It has been confirmed that the lawyer representing the bereaved family has also been booked by investigative authorities along with CEO Kim. The police stated, “The suspect (the bereaved family’s lawyer) committed the crime in an organized and planned manner, not only by providing evidence of the crime to CEO Kim and spreading false information, but also by amplifying and reproducing it.” In response, Attorney Ko Sang-rok, legal representative for actor Kim, stated on his social media on the 20th, “ Kim Soo-hyun’s side did not file a complaint against the bereaved family’s lawyer,” adding, “It appears that the investigative authorities confirmed charges of complicity and converted him into a suspect. It is very unusual for a suspect’s lawyer to be recognized as an accomplice and converted into a suspect.” On the 20th, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office requested an arrest warrant for CEO Kim on charges of violating the Act on Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (filming and distributing using a camera, etc.).

[LAWTALK NEWS]:
Prosecution Requests Arrest Warrant for Kim Se-ee Over "Kim Soo-hyun Exposé"... "Distribution of Recorded Material and Purpose of Defamation" as Key Issues
Accused of Unauthorized Exposé of Kim Soo-hyun's Private Life Photos and Conversation Logs
The prosecution has requested an arrest warrant for Kim Se-ui , CEO of the YouTube channel "Garo Sero Institute," who is accused of publicly disclosing photos and conversation logs related to actor Kim Soo-hyun's private life on air.
The 2nd Division for Investigation of Crimes Against Women and Children at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Park Ji-na) announced that it requested an arrest warrant on charges including violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Violence Crimes (Distribution of Imagery Captured Using Camera Equipment) and violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. (Defamation).
Agency's Complaint and Initiation of Police Investigation
Since March of last year, CEO Kim has been disclosing photos and conversation contents from the past relationship between actor Kim Soo-hyun and the deceased actor Kim Sae-ron through YouTube broadcasts. During this process, photos capturing parts of Kim Soo-hyun's body were exposed on the broadcast as they were.
In response, Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Goldmedalist, filed a complaint against CEO Kim for violating the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, stating, "These are photos capturing a body that can arouse sexual shame; they should not be disclosed to the public, and there is no reason for them to be disclosed."
Aside from this, the agency also proceeded with lawsuits and complaints regarding charges of intimidation and defamation.
Substantive Warrant Review Schedule and Court Examination
Upon receiving the arrest warrant application from the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, the prosecution requested it from the court. The interrogation of the suspect before arrest (substantive warrant review) is scheduled to take place on May 26.
The Seoul Central District Court, which is handling the case, will examine the necessity of detaining CEO Kim, presided over by Chief Judge Bu Dong-shik, who is in charge of warrants. Whether the arrest warrant will be issued will be determined by synthetically evaluating requirements such as the probability of criminal suspicion, lack of a fixed residence, risk of destruction of evidence, and flight risk.
Core Legal Issues of This Case
From a legal standpoint, the core disputes in this case are interpreted to be whether the photos disclosed by CEO Kim correspond to the recording of "a body that can arouse sexual desire or shame," and whether there was a "purpose of defamation" in the broadcasting acts.
In light of the standards set by Supreme Court precedents, if the stated facts belong to the pure private life domain of a public figure, or if they were broadcasted in a provocative and sensational manner on a YouTube channel operated for commercial profit, the probability of the purpose of defamation being recognized is high.
Furthermore, while the offense of defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act is an offense punishable over objection (meaning the suspect cannot be prosecuted if the victim does not wish for punishment), the charge of violating the Sexual Violence Punishment Act is interpreted as punishable regardless of the victim's expression of intent regarding non-punishment.
If found guilty, the two charges will be treated as concurrent offenses under the Criminal Act, and an aggravated sentencing standard may be applied.

It has been concluded that the audio recording of Kim Sae-ron disclosed during the broadcast was also manipulated using AI.
Attorney Bu Ji-seok (the legal representative for the bereaved family) and comedian Kwon Young-chan have also been officially listed as suspects.- @khosangrock
The Public who has brain sees the Truth that KimSoohyun is innocent and those criminal cyberwreker and ksr family are at fault and frauds and needs them to be punished only braindead beeches on this app can't digest the facts nor comprehend since they have Zero neurons 🤡🤣
Comments-
- They conspired and put on a fraud show, so they need to be punished.
It seems the Gangnam Police Station is finally doing its job after the staff reshuffle. Detain them quickly!
- Get OUT, social evil Ga Se Yeon [Garo Sero Institute]!!
Have they still not been arrested yet?
- It’s finally being revealed.. Kim Sei-ee, Kwon Young-chan, Boo Ji-seok, the bereaved family, and the fake aunt all need to be detained.
- It’s a real shame that the investigation into this fraud show took over a year.
- Have they still not gone to prison? Let them face the consequences of their crimes now, at least!!!!!!!
- ㄱㅅㅇ [Garo Sero Institute] I truly hope they get detained.
- Those who are still being brainwashed and blindly defending them need to wake up. The police didn't request an arrest warrant based on mere speculation; the National Forensic Service and digital forensics scientifically proved how Ga Se Yeon manipulated KakaoTalk messages. If they were truly innocent, why did they hide the deceased person's phone? This involves sex crimes, attempted coercion, and stalking altogether—it's a case bound for actual prison time, which is why an arrest warrant was requested. I hope the chief judge issues the warrant.
- Let's go.
Manipulating KakaoTalk, manipulating photo dates... just stop and go away. Do you think it's okay for you to live just fine after committing a nationwide scam against the public?
- Social evil. Please put them in prison.
- They need to be detained. Kim Sei-ee and the crew of the bereaved family must be punished. They are serious criminals who pulled off a nationwide fraud show by spreading false information.
- This outcome should have happened much sooner~ They need to be punished, including the bereaved family.
- They are social evils, let's properly eradicate them this time.
- It is highly significant that Boo Ji-seok and Kwon Young-chan, who weren't even sued by Kim Soohyun's side, have become suspects. Let the bereaved family and the fake aunt be punished as much as the crimes they committed.
- I think we shouldn't even use the term "bereaved family" anymore. It makes my skin crawl to think about how much support these people who essentially buried someone else's precious child alive received under the frame of being the "bereaved family." Now, that family should be called criminal suspects.
- It's been over a year, let's quickly and properly punish them.
- The scale of this crime is unprecedented. Not only Ga Se Yeon but the bereaved family also needs to be punished, and malicious commenters and other media outlets that spread Ga Se Yeon's claims without any verification should be punished too.

[EXCLUSIVE] Police: “Kim Saeron’s Voice Was AI-Manipulated - #KimSoohyun Minor Dating Claim FALSE”
While prosecutors requested an arrest warrant for Garosero Research Institute head Kim Seui, who is accused of damaging actor Kim Soohyun’s reputation, police concluded from their investigation that the claim saying actor Kim Soohyun dated the late actress Kim Saeron when she was a minor was false.
According to the arrest warrant request for Kim Seui obtained by JoongAng Ilbo on the 21st from the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, he was found to have spread false information about actor Kim Soohyun with financial motives such as YouTube profit. Police wrote, “(The suspect) clearly knew that actor Kim Soohyun DID NOT date the deceased when she WAS a minor, but STILL spread false information with the purpose of defaming him.”
The KakaoTalk conversation contents and other materials that Kim Seui released in March last year as proof of the relationship were found to have been MANIPULATED.
According to police, after receiving 11 screenshot photos of conversations the deceased exchanged with “(Unknown)” in 2016 from the bereaved family last year, Kim Seui EDITED and MANIPULATED a total of 7 parts, including changing the other person’s name in the chat to “Kim Soohyun.”
Police wrote, “(The suspect) clearly knew the identity of the conversation partner WAS NOT confirmed, but STILL uploaded manipulated materials to make it appear like real conversations between the two.”
The voice file of the deceased released by Kim Seui’s side in May last year was also believed to have been MANIPULATED using artificial intelligence (AI).
It was also confirmed that a lawyer representing the bereaved family together with Kim Seui was booked by the investigation agency.
Police stated, “The suspect (the bereaved family’s lawyer) not only provided crime-related materials to Kim Seui and spread false information, but also COMMITED the crime in an organized and planned way by expanding and reproducing it.”
Because of this, attorney Go Sangrok, the legal representative for actor Kim Soohyun, said on his social media (SNS) on the 20th, “Kim Soohyun’s side DID NOT file a complaint against the bereaved family’s lawyer. It appears the investigation agency confirmed suspicion of being an accomplice and changed the lawyer into a suspect. It is very unusual for a suspect’s lawyer to be recognized as an accomplice and then changed into a suspect.”
Police stated, “This caused the collapse of actor Kim Soohyun’s social foundation and overall economic activities, and destroyed the foundation of his professional survival. While he is currently receiving psychiatric treatment, if the suspect continues spreading false information again, it could lead to serious damage that is difficult to recover from.”
On the other hand, Kim Seui claimed the prosecution’s request for an arrest warrant was a scheme to interfere with reporting activities. Through a live broadcast the previous day, Kim Seui said, “I originally planned to continue additional reporting in Hanoi, Vietnam, about a sexual crime case involving a powerful politician. Suddenly and out of nowhere, an arrest warrant was requested to interfere with our reporting.”
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office requested an arrest warrant for Kim Seui on the 20th on charges of violating the Sexual Violence Punishment Act (filming and distributing using cameras, etc.). The warrant review hearing will be held on the 26th at the Seoul Central District Court under Chief Judge Boodong Sik.
