@Wenddy1234@ChrisMa93452755@mverbora@fordnation Agree. And in fact hospitals do have facility numbers that are indicated on billing. But for whatever reason this does nothing to mitigate billing negations. The Ministry of Health does not seem to care at all about correcting this issue.
@ChrisMa93452755@mverbora@fordnation We must use the codes when they are the only codes available. I am a family doctor as well as a hospitalist. I am very conscious about the codes I bill so as not to negate the family MD, but that sometimes means not billing at all for some visits (ie working for free)
@GLG2324 @mverbora The system is so crude that it can’t differentiate between a family MD working at a walk-in clinic vs a family MD working at a hospital. Certain billing codes will always penalize the patient’s own family MD if they are billed by another family MD, regardless of the setting
@annafoat@mverbora@donfazool No, you did the right thing. The billing negation system is extremely crude and continues to penalize family MDs even when patients receive appropriate care elsewhere, which includes 3am fish hook removal in emerg and even some inpatient care.
@drjkahn The headline is not quite accurate. The intervention was not simply eating well and exercising. The participants received 9 hours of lifestyle coaching over 8 weeks. So, they in fact did “go to therapy,” just with a different focus.
@JustinTrudeau What does Justin have against people in their 60s? He’s saying we should preferentially take more from elderly people who planned for their retirement based on the existing tax structure, who no longer have the earning potential to make up for the loss. Great plan!
@HazelAppleyard_ This is why minors who identify as trans should not be offered medical treatments that result in permanent sexual dysfunction. This person clearly never took puberty blockers, lucky for him. If he were chemically castrated at age 12, the party would be over before it started.
