Oh my God. Hossam is one of the few journalists who has been able to get us any information from North Gaza. Israel has been targeting and killing Palestinian (and Lebanese) journalists with impunity - they want to silence whatever information is able to get out. This is horrific & our media here is complicit in this genocide and in the targeting of these heroic journalists.
If you no longer see reports about Israeli massacres in northern Gaza, it’s not because they have stopped, but because the Israeli occupation has killed most of the journalists there for this exact reason: to keep you from knowing about them.
Massacres are being committed 24/7
Several years ago, when things were bad as they are now, I made a comic about art and community in the face of hate. Today feels like a time to reshare. 1/5

Here’s a random thread about the world‘s biggest mystery:
Baby pigeons! Feral city pigeons more specifically.
(All photos by yours truly, I’ve seen so many pigeon babies in the past year it’s crazy)
For this Shark Awareness Day, I thought I'd repost these funny and old illustrations that share some facts about sharks! 🦈✨

Bisan Owda has just won one of broadcast journalism’s highest honors – the Peabody Award – for her work with AJ+.
Bisan is currently facing intense Israeli bombardment in Rafah in the occupied Gaza Strip. This is her message to the world:
“This is not a normal war. The war in Ukraine has killed 500 kids in two years and the war in Gaza has killed over 10,000 in less than five months. We have seen wars before but this is something that is a dark stain on our shared humanity.” -Dr. Fozia Alvi https://t.co/6kYj7ICWdP
I remember a few months ago when my feed was full of Gazan scholars and journalists urgently commenting and reporting on the slaughter. Now many of them are dead, or have been driven out. Pictures of dead children and devastation still come through, but surrounded by silence.
