"I traveled to Japan with @Gurudev Sri Sri and we had never been there but it was arranged for us to stay in a monastery even in the middle of hectic Tokyo. Old day Guruji just looked over at me and said “We’re not doing much let’s have a course” so not speaking Japanese or knowing anyone but who’s to say no to Gurudev? I remembered I had taught a woman in New York who mentioned her brother taught English so I got his number and called him and explained that I was traveling with this great yogi and teaching a course could he get together a group to listen. So I met them at the train station and was bragging about his amazing talks ( I was just in the middle of taping his Bhakti sutras)
So bring them into the temple I slid the paper screen back and they all found their places. Gurudev had a white shawl wrapped around him and I began my usual introductions. “This is Punditji and we’re traveling the world teaching this powerful breathing technique. And finishing I gestured to him and he didn’t move, just stayed silent. So I began again introducing him and still silent. I think I started a third time to introduce him and still silent, then one of the girls started crying until they were all weeping and finally Guruji dismissed everyone and walking them back to the station I began apologizing but they all stopped me saying “no that was the most amazing feeling, that room was so full of bliss” coming back Gurudev asked me how they liked that and I said “well they had a good time but it would have been nice if you had said something but he just smiled “they were so ready they didn’t need words the presence was enough” later they all learned the kriya and the one who first started crying eventually became the president of Art of Living for Japan"
