the more i rewatch & think about the plot, the more i feel like jaran’s story might be the most tragic of them all. it seems like he’s been around far longer than the other angels? there’s something about his appearance, especially his rather old-fashioned clothing that makes me wonder if he’s the oldest among the 4 of them & that he endured this cycle of forgetting his memories countless times already. perhaps he’s grown accustomed to how things are supposed to end for him which would explain why he seems less inclined to challenge his fate compared to the rest of the angels. then pran comes into his life, someone who makes him consider the possibility that their ending doesn’t have to be predetermined.

but here’s what makes me a tad bit worried because what if the four angels aren’t actually facing the same kind of fate? the other three might still have a chance to remain with the people they love, provided they can survive their respective curses. jaran, however, seems to be caught in a much crueler predicament. if the curse remains, he could lose his memories of pran. if breaking it requires a sacrifice, he could lose him that way instead. almost as if regardless of which path he takes, he’s never meant to have a future with pran 🥲

and then there’s the possibility that neither outcome is a happy one. what if they fail to break the curses, and the angels gradually lose the very people they’re trying to protect? or what if they succeed, only to discover that their freedom means returning to heaven and leaving their loved ones behind? imagine the humans growing old, spending their entire lives waiting while the angels are eventually called back to where they belong.

there's so many ways this story could break our hearts and i am seated for it 😭 will they give us a happy ending or is this doomed yaoi?
