Dowry h@rassment cases can be quashed after mutual settlement, Andhra Pradesh High Court

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has held that criminal proceedings arising from matrimonial disputes, including dowry h@rassment cases, can be quashed when the parties voluntarily reach an amicable settlement, provided the offences do not involve serious criminal conduct.

The case involved a husband and his family members facing proceedings under Section 85 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

During the hearing, the wife confirmed that she had voluntarily agreed to settle the dispute and submitted an affidavit supporting the settlement.
The High Court observed that although dowry cruelty offences are non-compoundable to protect victims, it can exercise its inherent powers under Section 528 BNSS to quash proceedings in appropriate cases where the settlement is genuine.

Considering the wife's voluntary consent and the nature of the dispute, the Court quashed the criminal proceedings against the husband and his family members.

HISAR HORROR: WIFE ACCUSED OF MURDERING HUSBAND, BODY FOUND BLOODIED WITH NAIL MARKS ON NECK!

In Haryana's Hisar, 42-year-old Mahesh was found dead on Sunday morning at his rented home in Satrod Khurd, barely 90 minutes after neighbours reportedly intervened in a late-night fight with his wife, Seema.

His bloodied body bore nail marks on the neck and injuries to the head, shoulders and hands.

Mahesh's mother, Kamlesh, alleged that Seema had repeatedly assaulted him in the past. The couple reportedly had frequent domestic disputes and shared two sons.

Following his brother Suresh's complaint, police registered a murder case against Seema and took her into custody for questioning.

Forensic evidence was collected, with the postmortem scheduled for Monday to determine the exact cause of death. The murder allegation remains under investigation.

सिलाई कारीगर अंशुल की हत्या कराने क़े बाद पत्नि निशा ने क़ातिल बॉयफ्रेंड का बड़ी ही सफाई से बचाव करते हुए मकान मालिक को लपेट दिया था। बताया था की मकान मालिक का 10 महीने का किराया बकाया था .. इसी क़े चलते हत्या हुई है। रोने की एक्टिंग भी पुलिस को संदिग्ध लगी। पुलिस ने पकड़ा तो केस खुल गया।

लखीमपुर के रहने वाले अंशुल ने 10 वर्ष पहले निशा से प्रेम विवाह किया था। दोनों भागकर गाजियाबाद के खोड़ा में किराए क़े घर में रहने लगे थे। यहाँ पर दोनों एक फैक्ट्री में सिलाई का काम करते थे। अब अंशुल ने अपने दीदी और जीजा को भी इसी फैक्ट्री में काम करने के लिए बुला लिया और अपनी ही बिल्डिंग में एक कमरा किराए पर दिलवा दिया था। अंशुल नाइट शिफ्ट में ड्यूटी करता था तो जीजा उसकी पत्नि संग अय्याशी करता। कुछ दिन पहले ही अय्याशी का यह राज़ व्हाट्सअप चैट से खुला था। इसके बाद ही निशा ने प्रेमी को हत्या कराने को तैयार किया।

Andhra Pradesh Police have uncovered an alleged plot to kill a local BJP leader after investigating the burning of his motorcycle.

The case began on September 13, when the motorcycle of BJP Mandal President Muniraju was set on fire during the night.

The investigation led to the arrest of his wife and five others.

Another case where the investigation appears to have uncovered much more than what happened on the surface.
