@brianchau57 Taxpayers should not fund any non profit organizations. The charity industry is a huge scam. Am I missing something there? Donโt extort people for your benefit.
Bernie Sanders has written a letter to Sam Altman, Dario Amodei, and Mark Zuckerberg urging them to immediately pause all AI development in the interest of humanity. And he warns if they do not take appropriate action now, the US Senate will.
I am assuming that this study was not funded by the Taxpayers. If so, the grant writers should be audited. here is what I found
1. there are less than 1000 $10 million+ income and $1 billion networth individuals in the US. Given that there are 29K zipcodes studied, the Skew is going to be obvious
2. ~800K households have an income of $1 million+ and they are clustered in obvious zipcodes Manhattan, Silicon Valey, Los Angeles, Palm Beach, Miami, Houston, Fairfield county, Connecticut, Winnetka, Medina, Austin, etc. Duh, most of the kids will have enviable trusts.
3. Imagine being a kid of one of the "successes" you will be a millionaire if you can out-fart an average human.
Dont even get me started on other factors like the minimum wage difference High $21.65 (3x of low) to $7.25 (low). You can call this as an exercise in futility. I just hope my taxes did not pay for it- and it was charged to one of the rich endowments.
A high school kid should be able to go online, submit a hypothesis to a national lab, and have an autonomous system run the experiment and report results. That is the vision. And it is closer than you think.
@elonmusk you need to do something about attention hogs. People that post clips with their take on the clips. IMHO its Broadcasting from the peak of mount stupid. The algorithm rewards them anyway.
Chamath reveals his company's AI token costs are doubling every 45 days but productivity is only up 5%
"I sat down with my CTO today, I said how are we doing on token spend. And he said the most incredible thing, he said right now, our token costs are doubling every 45 days. I said well what is the downstream productivity? And he said maybe 5% max."
"So my costs are doubling every 45 days, my upside is essentially flat. He said honestly, what we're finding out is that you need to use a lot more tokens to get to this next iteration of improvement because we've effectively already asymptoted."
"We're going to take a step back and try to figure out what to do. I don't know how many other companies will actually go through this reckoning now, but the point is everybody in the next three or four years will for sure go through it."
"I suspect that if you can get out now, you should get out now before all of that starts to seep into the water table. Because I think that's probably what allows you to get out at a huge price and raise a huge amount of money."
@a16z@pmarca Interesting, while some people can span multiple competencies, itโs not easy being a domain expert + detailed UX designer + architect + developer. The weakest link leads to Slop that compounds in seconds
WARREN BUFFETT ON THE FED'S 2% INFLATION TARGET ๐บ๐ธ: "I WISH THEY HAD A ZERO INFLATION TARGET"
His problem with 2%: it "compounds pretty dramatically over time." At that pace, prices double roughly every 35 years.
And it sets a quiet floor under everyone's money. In his words, anyone earning less than 2% on their cash is "going backwards." Worse, you may owe tax on the 2% that just kept you even.
"I don't like that particular goal."
