This took place in a broad daylight, in an open place, in a country with supposed Air Force with fighter jets.
APC government knows what they’re doing.
What actually needs to change at the policy level:
1. Enforce 15% budget to health (Abuja Declaration, 2001)
2. Fund primary health centers properly
3. Pay salaries on time and competitively
4. Regulate private hospitals (billing transparency)
5. Fund universal basic coverage pilot programs
None of this is radical. All of it requires political will.
Politicians who legislate healthcare in Nigeria:
→ Don't use public hospitals
→ Don't pay out of pocket for healthcare
→ Get medical tourism paid by the state
→ Have never waited in a government hospital queue
And they make decisions for 220 million people who have.
