In the past 10 years an average of 737 Thai children drowned each year. So the government set a goal to reduce drowning by sending out teams to teach swimming. In 2021, there were 658 deaths which is a 10.7% reduction. Still a lot more to do but it’s going in the right direction.

Bangkok city inspectors were out in force yesterday as part of the campaign to increase the safety of pedestrians on zebra crossings and on the sidewalk. Motorcyclists who drove or parked on the sidewalk were fined 2,000-5,000 baht.
