Palm oil concessions in Kalimantan are granted around 1,000-2,000 km2 of land; ultimately, this amount of space causes the displacement of the whole orangutan population #39canimals

To stop the tragedy of illegal wildlife trading, we have to make our voices heard. We do this by signing petitions, sending emails, and making pledges. The more the merrier #39canimals

In addition to this, we need to voice our concerns to the government. Implementation of strict detergents need to be enforced and we need to reduce the need for wildlife, more specifically endangered species, products. #39canimals

More often than not, baby orangutans are affect by the illegal pet trade. Something has to be done about this; these orangutans are the innocent ones in all of this #39caninals

Illegal trading of orangutans has gradually increased due to the increase of plantation building, making orangutans more susceptible to human contact since they’re driven out of their natural habitats #39canimals

Another leading cause of orangutan endangerment is illegal wildlife/pet trading. These primates are being smuggled out of their natural habitats (Indonesian rainforests) to neighboring southwest Asian countries #39canimals

Orangutan Outreach also supports the SOCP. This program focuses on protecting the Sumatran orangutan since 2002 ! They have proven “record for delivering measurable results in... consolidation & reintroduction of orangutans” #39canimals

Like the Orangutan Land Trust, Orangutan Outreach is involved in various campaigns; one being MOM (Missing Orangutan Mothers). This campaign encourages people to be more active in protecting orangutans.
