@weartv I graduated from Tate years ago and was told if I wore my Chaco sandals they wouldn’t allow me to walk the stage so this doesn’t shock me at all. Sad and frustrating, but definitely not shocking to me.
I’ll never forget my first unionized job (CUPE 500), at 19, I was told to take a break and I was like “oh it’s ok, I don’t need a break, I’m good.” My colleague said “take your break because we earned it and some of us need them.” That lesson stuck with me.
