Our executive director, John McCollum, is in India. Yesterday, he and all the local Asia's Hope kids and staff enjoyed a picnic on the banks of the Relli River. It was a day to remember...

When our kids graduate high school and go on to university, we offer them the opportunity to stay at one of our residential student centers. There, they can transition to independent adulthood in a safe, nurturing environment with their Asia’s Hope brothers, sisters and cousins.
Empowering local staff has always been central to our philosophy of care. In fact, 100% of our staff in Asia are from the countries and communities they serve.

Visit https://t.co/9vmDIgl5OW and make a generous year-end gift.
An orphan's greatest need is to NOT be an ORPHAN anymore. And that can only happen in the context of a stable, loving family.

Congrats to the 9th graders the Asia's Hope #School in Battambang, #Cambodia.
All 23 students passed the 10th grade entrance exam. This school provides a high quality middle and high school #education for hundreds of our kids — and poor kids from the surrounding community.
It costs an average of just $2,500 a year to provide a university scholarship for Mariya and other students like her: deserving kids who have worked hard, overcome the odds, and have been accepted into college.
After Mariya’s father took his life, her mother fell into depression and sickness. She left Mariya — then just eight years old — to live with an elderly and ill grandmother who could not provide even the basics for her survival...
...Mariya worked odd jobs to help support herself, and was unable to attend school.
After coming to live at Asia’s Hope, Mariya quickly caught up in school, and she is currently attending National University of Battambang, studying Korean.

At Asia’s Hope, we value #hospitality. So about once a week, our Executive Director John McCollum makes lunch for staff, friends or whoever else happens to be around our U.S. office. Today, it’s puerco pibil, or Yucatán-style pork in banana leaves.
If you don’t understand that adults who sexually molest CHILDREN are not being “sexually immoral” but are engaged in CRIMINAL conduct, get out of ministry.
You’re going to crush the vulnerable.
And if you know but your response is “that’s a distraction” you get out, too.

Most orphan care initiatives age out kids when they turn 18 years old. But we treat our kids the way you’d treat yours, providing transitional care for young adults, including scholarships for university and vocational training. #OrphanCare#FamilyStyle#CollegeScholarships
Orphaned children live each day at high risk of discrimination, abuse and exploitation. That’s why Asia’s Hope’s mission is so critical. Join us in making a difference.
