@RutgersAltRoute A5 establish more consistent communications with parents. I will try to make regular contact a routine from the start of the year either through weekly email or text availability. I hope to build a trusting relationship with them. #altrted#standuptobullying
@RutgersAltRoute A5: #AltRtEd and #standuptobullying: I will have my students watch bullying videos and discuss what to do what not to do. Classroom projects and writing responces about how to prevent these kinds of problems, and what is the best way to deal this it.Performance based activities.
@RutgersAltRoute A4: #AltRtEd and #standuptobullying: Students get distracted academically as bullying effects thier confidence tremendiously. Morover, They do not feel like coming to school if the problem is not solved appropriately. Students struggle to gain confidence back.
@RutgersAltRoute A3 #AltRtEd and #standuptobullying: I engage with students families and colleagues frequently to make sure I hear and address their concerns. Also,I send them frequent newsletters and emails to make sure we stay connected. If needed I setup video calls to discuss their concerns.
@RutgersAltRoute A2: #AltRtEd and #standuptobullying: Right from the beginning I will set clear and enfourceable rules and expectations, model to set an example, reward positive behavior, have open communication, engage parents, monitor hot spots, explain state laws.
@RutgersAltRoute A1: #AltRtEd and #standuptobullying: As an elementary teacher,I try my best to stay calm, and in control all the time. There is so much going on everyday, but I make sure not to forget celebrating my students' works in different ways. I tried to move around and stay connected.
@RutgersAltRoute A7: #AltRtEd#EdTech: I am excited to use seasaw next year. My school is planning to buy the full version of seasaw. we are also planning to have some zoom meetings in order to incorporate additional tools for next year.
@RutgersAltRoute@Tolerance_org@NEAToday A6#AltRtEd #EdTech
I guess I would like to have a weekly video call with parents to synch up and discuss any questions/concerns about thier kid's progress via differentiate communication methods
Also, it's very important to communicate/convey positive feedback about students.
@RutgersAltRoute A5#AltRtEd #EdTech: Technology has played a major role in virtual learning. some of the tool I have used and have been very helpful are below:
1. Google classroom
2. Email communication
3. Zoom
4. Google docs
5. Teacherease
6. Seasaw
@RutgersAltRoute A4"#AltRtEd#SpEd": It improves engagement, encourages individual learning, encourages collaboration, students can learn useful life skills through technology. Challenges: Budget limitation, inadequate professional training, less hands-on activities.
@RutgersAltRoute A3: #AltRtEd#EdTech :I believe that teachers share common purpose and goal.I was regularly co ordinating with my fellow second grade teachers and third grade too. We normally discussed students progress, Plan team activities, tools to use online and online teaching problems.
@RutgersAltRoute A2 #AltRtEd#EdTech: I faced two major problems. 1: limited time to plan the lesson, 2:technical problems causing anxiety to both teacher and students/parents. It was overcome by practicing tools, and communicating efficiently with the parents.
@RutgersAltRoute A1:My second graders were not dependent on using technology in school, that is why they had hard time getting engaged during online learning. I developed a hook through youtube, brainpop, IXL. After few weeks they got use to it. "#AltRtEd#EdTech.
@RutgersAltRoute A6:The flexible seating might cause classroom management problems, if it is not used properly. Moreover, using a soft ball but playing with it, is a cause of distraction from instructions. I will make sure they sit close to me where I can reachout to them easily.@RutgersAltRoute
@RutgersAltRoute A5: I will try to focus more on where the child is sitting and with whom, I do not have any tools they can keep them busy with. I will try to bring in some figid tools. Moreover, using more graphic organizers help them organize their thoughts.@RutgersAltRoute
@RutgersAltRoute A4:I provide them extra time to finish their work, let them be teacher's helpe one on one instructions, hands on activities, fillingout self reflection checklist, making them group leaders to give them an opportunity to lead and take responsibilty of the projects.@RutgersAltRoute
@RutgersAltRoute A3: Supplemental instructions and making them feel safe provide confidence in students. Teacher can provide positive reinforcement could enhave their personality in general. Have them work in groups while keeping an eye will make them feel comfortable.@RutgersAltRoute
@RutgersAltRoute A2: The best way to empower my students is to make them feel safe in my class. This will provide a sence of confidence, and they will start sharing their feelings and thought to other around them. Appreciating them time to time also helps.@RutgersAltRoute
@RutgersAltRoute A1: The biggest challenge to accomodate students with disabilities starts with knowing their interests and levels. Sometimes they are not in a mood of doing anything and it makes them left behind from others. As a result, they develop more frustration.@RutgersAltRoute
