if you use videos to sell
this is what will make you successful:
being willing to TEST MORE things than most people
most people want certainty before they move
you move, get data, then make the next decision
you can immediately tell who's going to RIP with their vsl funnel
• they work with urgency
• they are comfortable with spending money to acquire data
• they don't expect the moon when just starting off a new vsl funnel
love these people

yo guys what do you do when a client sends you a vsl from another client of yours and tells you that their vsl marketing is really good and you should take inspiration?
Learning how to script a vsl is the single highest ROI skill on the planet.
You don't even need to be that good...
literally just don't have a bad hook
Your ability to warm leads up is the key to sell to cold traffic, and most people are so laughably shit at it
to anyone who's using videos to sell online: you need an optimized VSL funnel
i've built funnels for online coaching programs, ecom brands and local service businesses. the VSL is one of the first things we optimize
here's how (8 points):
(P.S. i explain why this is important at the bottom of the post)
1. start with your customers, not your script. pull every sales call, your best ads, DMs and comments, and upload them into AI. find the specific reasons people bought and every reason others didn't. each of those objections gets handled later in the video.
2. next, figure out where your viewer is coming from. cold traffic from paid ads and warm traffic from organic need very different VSLs. same offer, different conversation.
3. now write your hook (60 to 90 sec). use the 5 Ps: promise ("i'll show you 5 things..."), pain (the symptoms they feel every day), proof, plan (the steps you'll walk them through) and picture (a visual if you have one).
4. add your UVP section (1 to 3 min). explain how you solve the problem. simple formula: "everyone thinks X. the problem is Y. the fix is Z."
5. then handle objections (1 to 3 min). take your list from step 1 and break each belief in 4 beats: what they think, why it's wrong, what's actually right, and the proof.
6. add your first CTA (15 sec). example: "this is the end of the video. after this it's just client testimonials. if you want us to help you solve [pain], click the button below to book a call." give the exact next action and a reason to do it now. use urgency( = time) or scarcity (= amount).
7. now for the most important section for trust: testimonials. use chapters so viewers can skip to the ones they care about, and make each testimonial represent a subtype of your ICP.
then close with a second CTA: "if you want to get rid of [pain], click the button below to book a call."
8. finally, rewrite the script in their words. say the exact things they said in calls, DMs and comments back to them. plumbers don't talk like plastic surgeons, and if you describe their problem better than they can, they'll think you have the solution.
here's why this is so important:
> more of the right people book, and more of them actually show up
> calls get shorter and you close a higher %. the vsl pre-frames every call so it's ~90% done before your rep says hi
> the wrong people opt out before they ever cost you a rep's time
shoot me a DM if you want a live teardown of the lowest hanging fruit in your vsl (tailored to your specific offer)
i hope this helps someone!
