We will never reach a consensus opinion on the sign stealing saga. Some think it was everything, others think its effect on outcome was overblown.

But I’m not sure how anyone can look at the success Mike McDonald has had in the NFL… Jesse Minter, Jay Harbaugh, Colston Loveland, Aidan Hutchison, Blake Corum, AJ Barner, Mason Graham, Kenneth Grant, Mike Sainristill, even JJ is starting to play good football (regardless he was one of the best Michigan QBs of all time), etc etc..

.. but especially McDonald, Minter, and Jay Harbaugh and say that the *only reason* Michigan won any big game post Covid was from Connor Stallions.

It’s just disingenuous and not even worth a further conversation at that point, if you can observe the high level, NFL success of these guys. And yet still say effectively, “Michigan was not really even good. The only reason they were good was bc of Stallions.”

Watching the Rams play Seattle last night, basically for the title of top dog in the NFL, and seeing McDonald come away with the win. Seeing a key special teams TD credit to Jay Harbaugh, and seeing all of the former UM players balling out.. I just don’t understand how anyone could reasonably down play how good of a team and staff Michigan had.

Two years in, I’m ready to say that the four-team Playoff was superior to the 12-team Playoff in most ways. It succeeded in identifying the best team, protected the regular season and preserved some good non-CFP bowl matchups. Also, fewer decisions for the committee to screw up.

My thoughts on yesterday:

- Ohio State bullied Michigan. I hate writing that sentence, but it's the truth.

- The theme of the entire season continued. Michigan didn't take advantage of opportunities. Deep in OSU territory twice early, and only came away with 6 points.

- Regardless, it was a one-score game at halftime. Putting up zero points in the 2nd half is unacceptable. 53 total yards, only in OSU territory once.

- Ohio State was better in every facet of the game. That's the reality. The staff and players need to spend the next 364 days focused on beating them.

I know this team is young and extremely injured but it just seems like the game plan didn’t take that into account at all. When we need to blitz Wink isn’t. When we need to press the pass we aren’t. We are overly predictable and not executing

Michigan is a good coaching staff away from a completely different season. Wink gets baited into blitzing on key plays. We have the worst special teams in the country. Trick plays for no reason.
