.@abhijeet_dipke has been kidnapped by @DelhiPolice
It has been more than 10 hours since he was picked up but until now, neither his parents, nor his lawyers & not the CJP team have been given any updates about his location
We’re all asking only one question: #AbhijeetKahanHai
When CJP was granted permission to protest, many were quick to float conspiracy theories that we were planted by the BJP.
Yesterday, the INDIA bloc held a massive protest, but there was no crackdown like the one we witnessed on October 10.
This is exactly how the govt plays us against each other. By treating different protests differently, they create suspicion and mistrust among people who are ultimately fighting for the same cause.
My only request to everyone is to see through these tactics. Today, they may allow one protest and crush another. Tomorrow, they could reverse the roles. The idea is to keep us doubting each other instead of questioning those in power.
Don’t let conspiracy theories divide us. Don’t fall into the trap of fighting among ourselves when we should be standing together.
The fight is against Gyanesh Kumar and those protecting him. Don’t lose sight of that.
No one is claiming credit for doing the bare minimum of helping people.
Please don’t turn this into a political debate about who is helping whom, especially when CJP is barely five months old and is already doing so much on the ground.
When it comes to legal support during detentions, much of the help comes from independent lawyers who are actively present on the ground. These are people I have known for a long time, and they have always stepped up when needed. Their contribution, especially during protests, cannot be overlooked or taken away. They are the unsung heroes, and I have always been, and will always remain, grateful to them.
As for CJP, more and more lawyers are volunteering their time and coming forward to be part of the team. It will take time to streamline things, but progress is happening.
A heartfelt thank you to all the independent lawyers in Delhi who continue to show up and help - not just CJP, but others who need support on the ground. Their work deserves recognition, gratitude, and respect. ✊🏼
IMPORTANT
Until Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka are in detention, CJP’s Organization In-Charge Ajinkya Shinde will lead this protest at Jantar Mantar.
Abhijeet had pre-recorded this video last night in anticipation of a potential arrest. @AjinkyaCJP
Government of India restricted @abhijeet_dipke’s video on X almost immediately after it was posted.
This is the video the Government of India doesn’t want you to see.
