The second-richest man in 🇮🇳India, Gautam Adani, was charged with bribery and fraud in US in 2024.

US Department of Justice said in May 2026 it would no longer pursue the charges, incidentally after Adani made a public pledge to invest $10 billion in US.

In confirming the dismissal of charges, a 🇺🇸US judge asked Adani whether anything was promised by US government in exchange for dropping the indictment.

Adani denied any deal with US government in his sworn declaration.

Is this case a proof of:

A) Solid rule of law in US;

B) Need to start using more sophisticated pieces of evidence than mere “sworn declarations”;

C) Mock trial in sending cases for judicial review, without giving the judge a discretion to properly look into the facts;

D) Other?
