The Asia Cup 2025 has officially been awarded to the United Arab Emirates, with the tournament scheduled to take place from September 5 to September 21.

According to sources, all matches will be held at the Dubai and Abu Dhabi International Cricket Stadiums.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is currently holding its annual meeting in Dhaka, where several important decisions regarding the tournament are being finalized.

It is expected that the official schedule and other details will be announced at the end of the meeting.

Sources have revealed that eight teams will participate in this year’s Asia Cup. These include traditional rivals Pakistan and India, along with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.

The event is anticipated to generate massive excitement among cricket fans, as it features a blend of experienced teams and emerging associate nations showcasing their talent.

The tri-nation cricket series between Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reached its finalization stage.

According to sources, the series will be finalized on the sidelines of the ongoing ACC meeting, and the official schedule and venues are expected to be announced after the sessions conclude.

This tri-series is scheduled to be held in the UAE before the Asia Cup 2025, even though Pakistan was originally set to host Afghanistan in August.

However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) proposed replacing the bilateral series with a tri-series in the UAE instead.

Sources say the primary purpose of hosting the series in the UAE is to help the teams adapt to local conditions ahead of the Asia Cup.

It is worth mentioning that the historic Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is set to take place this Thursday in Bangladesh, with a large majority of member nations confirming attendance.

Out of ACC’s 25 members, 24 have confirmed their participation, far exceeding the required quorum of 13. This is being hailed as a major diplomatic success for ACC President Mohsin Naqvi.

Despite initial resistance from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sri Lanka Cricket, and Oman Cricket over the meeting venue, Naqvi’s persistent efforts ensured the meeting would proceed as scheduled in Dhaka.

Importantly, India will also be participating virtually, with BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla expected to attend the meeting online, signaling a notable shift in the board’s previous stance.
