It's important to acknowledge how potent war propaganda is. It's been developed over centuries and stimulates the most visceral tribalistic impulses.
The days and weeks after every new US war or "regime-change" operation are triumphalist. We're always vanquishing The Bad Guys. We're freeing the repressed peoples of the world. It makes everyone feel noble, purposeful and, most of all, brave and strong (even though they're not the ones fighting).
The media only shows the people who cheer it. The costs are concealed. The motives aren't questioned. Patriotic pride swirls. It's been like this for decades.
During this initial burst of war intoxication, there's no persuasion or reasoning possible. It's like trying to talk to a drunk person. They're inebriated on the war glories (of others).
This dissipates only a few months or a year later when the whole thing falls apart, when it becomes obvious none of the motives were benevolent or the ones stated, when only a tiny fraction benefit at everyone else's expense, when the only outcome is bloodshed, autocracy and misery.
By then, most people who supported it won't admit they did (or they'll blame "poor implementation" or a failure to carry it through).
But those regrets don't matter. By then, it's just time to sell the new war, and the war propaganda process just starts anew.
This time, it's the good war, the one that will work, the one that will bring us prosperity and purpose, etc. etc. And the only ones opposed are ones who hate all that's good. That's how a country stays in a posture of endless war.
The Knesset is advancing formal proceedings to expel MK Ayman Odeh (Hadash-Ta’al) over his outspoken support for Gaza, including solidarity with Palestinian prisoners. A petition backed by around 70 lawmakers—primarily from right-wing parties—accuses him of supporting “terrorism.”
This follows a recent two-week suspension by the Knesset Ethics Committee, during which Odeh was barred from activities and salary.
Under the 2016 MK Expulsion Law, at least 70 signatures are needed to petition, then three-quarters of a House Committee must agree to advance the case. Finally, a supermajority of 90 out of 120 Knesset members is required to expel. If successful, Odeh can appeal to the Supreme Court.
To date, no MK has ever been expelled under this law. A notable attempt in 2024 to remove MK Ofer Cassif fell short—85 lawmakers voted for it, missing the required margin.

@GeraldBourguet No timeouts called here after the second or third 3 is a huge coaching failure. Also would have given the ability to get someone like Dunn in who I do think would have been better for perimeter defense, idk Bud might be a big part of the problem after all
@Suns This one might have officially convinced me that Bud is a problem. After getting to 2pts back, let them hit 7 3’s hot as all hell without calling a TO. TO after the second or third and get Dunn in who can pressure the perimeter.
@Suns I don’t understand not giving Dunn minutes. We seriously lack defense… it’s on repeat every game. Dunn works harder on D than anyone on this team even if he’s a bit raw still.
@Jumpshot8@Suns If they’re gonna shoot as many 3’s as they do, they need to send at least one guy to try to get a rebound. Too many 3’s where our entire team is already back past half court by the time it hits rim.
