@add_8some 4k and 1440p from youtube only come as vp9 and the iphone X has no vp9 decoder, that's why you get sound with a black screen. the file is fine, vlc plays it. i'm adding a converter to the app for this but it needs a chip that decodes vp9, so XS and newer. on the X stick to 1080p

New update — ASJTube 1.3

• Every menu, message and dialog is the app's own now
• Downloads report the way YouTube reports its own
• Opening a YouTube link from Safari no longer closes the app
• Works with the newest YouTube 21.38.2

@add_8some playlists not yet, a whole playlist at one quality is doable though, i'll look at it. and 4k should play inside ASJTube normally, what iphone and ios are you on? does the file even show up in the library?

[Ahmad Rashed @asjrxx]

@add_8some checked it. youtube doesn't even offer 4k in a format Photos accepts, above 1080p it's only vp9 or av1 and Photos refuses both. other tweaks have the same problem. for now just use Save to Files, works fine with 4k. hdr is the same thing, only 15 pro and newer can do it

[Ahmad Rashed @asjrxx]

A YouTube link from Safari closed the app every time — and it was ours, not YouTube's: a key we had added to Info.plist made iOS demand a method YouTube does not implement. Its own crash log named it word for word.
