Today I was proud to stand with @BKBPReynoso to demand action against SNAP benefit theft. Too many hardworking NY families are being robbed of the assistance they need to put food on the table. New York must do more to protect recipients and stop this growing crisis.
The search for missing youth Esti has now been escalated to Priority 1. Bringing her home safely remains our top priority. We joined Esti’s family today as the search continues, and we are grateful to the @TorontoPolice and Inspector Peter Wallace for dedicating every available resource to this effort.
Please continue sharing Esti’s information and keep her family in your thoughts. If you have seen her or have any information, call 911 and contact @Shomrimtoronto at (647) 557-6735.
Let’s bring Esti home safely.

Rabbi Meyer Ber Schwartz resident of Seagate, was saved on oct 29, 2012 when he was wrapped in his tallis, five hours on the roof of the garbage truck, freezing till Hatzolah, with the help of national gaurds rescued him with a bulldozer
Meyer Ber Schwartz, returned to his home in the Seagate neighborhood, located on the beach in Brooklyn. Schwartz parked near his house, when a wave of water flooded and shook his car.
The water increased, Rabbi Meir immediately called the Hatzalah rescue center - and asked for help. When the water had filled the car, Rabbi Meir decided to take a risk and open the car door.
"he felt like that was it - he was going to drown. In the last minute he caught his tallis and tefillin which were in the car, he pushed hard on the driver's door and went outside, in an attempt to try to push his way through the water into the house. A surge of water pushed him, but with inhuman strengths and Hashem's help he suddenly noticed a garbage truck parked right behind his car.
"he started to make his way toward the truck, and thank G-d I managed to climb on the roof. he stood there, shaking with cold, exposed to strong winds and clung to the truck with all my might. Luckily he had a cell phone in my pocket, so I was able to inform people of the situation. his son immediately notified the rescue forces and 'Hatzalah' and 'Chaveirim'. The rescue forces promised to send a rescue vehicle, and in the meantime at the entrance to the neighborhood about 15 volunteers gathered and decided to create a human chain, holding on to each other, and moving through the water towards him.
"The team managed to get into the neighborhood, but soon had to give up the idea. Meanwhile, he felt that his strength was leaving me and he was shivering. his son who was with him all the time on the phone advised him to take the tallis and wrap it around him, and thus keeps my body temperature - and indeed it was a good idea."
"Dozens of volunteers called him and tried to cheer him up, but the phone battery was towards the end and he was exhausted. Only after five hours of standing on the roof of the truck in the cold and winds of 120 mph, the rescue truck arrived, a tractor with huge wheels, rescued me and brought me into the parking lot - a place of safety. "
hundreds of anxious people around the world prayed for his safety.
