- aces can still have relationships
- aces can have same sex relationships
- some aces still have sex (some aces don't, some are sex repulsed)
- asexuality is an umbrella term that also covers demisexual and gray-ace
- demisexual is not "the default that everyone is"
- many people are attracted to people they don't know, however many choose to not act on that attraction until they know the person better
- demisexual need a strong connection before feeling attraction

There's a difference between choosing to not act on attraction until you have a connection, vs needing the connection there first before feeling attraction

🧔🏻 - if they are asexual, why would some aces still have sex without attraction?

Reasons vary, for me it's more "bodies are fun, and getting good at sex like getting good at video games is fun, and sucking dick is soothing"

It's like

- you are not opposed to cake
- you are currently not craving cake
- you are not going to go hunting for cake
- but if offered a slice of cake, why not?

People often confuse celibacy and asexual as the same thing, but celibacy is a choice, asexuality isn't

asexuality is about attraction, not action

and for aromantic: romance just doesn't compute for me, i love and care for people deeply, and i have strong committed relationships that not romantic, but more than platonic friendships

The labels we use and what it means to us, honestly not anyone else's business

but like being the aro-ace emotional support pup to a queer poly couple is kinda nice
