On #WorldHealthDay, let’s remember that parents and carers of autistic children and adults need to look after our own health too.
We need to try to keep staying strong in mind and body so we can keep supporting our children and loved ones as they grow and develop, 24/7 in this everchanging and evolving world.
Sending positive vibes to you all 🥰

Harry’s Moment to Shine
Perhaps the most moving aspect of the day was watching Harry in action. Once non-verbal as a young child, he now confidently handled and introduced each animal with knowledge, care, and quiet authority.
For Nicky, it was an emotional moment.
“To see Harry like this today ,confident, engaged, and sharing his passion is just beautiful,” she said. “Moments like this remind you how far people can come with the right support and opportunities.”
It was a powerful reflection of everything Anna Kennedy Online stands for: inclusion, empowerment, and the celebration of individual potential.
Facing Fear, Finding Joy
As for Anna, she rose to the challenge with surprising courage.
“Honestly, I’m not saying I didn’t have a flush or two,” she laughed. “The tarantula was definitely a worry! But I absolutely adored the owl. And Harry taught me so much about the animals things I never knew before.”

What being shortlisted for the Autism HeroAwards means to George.
When asked what being shortlisted means to him, George, who is a day student based at Ullenwood, said he is “proud and happy.”
Looking ahead to the awards final in London, George shared his excitement: ‘meeting new people and get more followers on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube to help more people with a disability do things. I am also looking forward to the food and I am excited to go to London.’
George, a student on the Personal Development for Positive Contribution pathway, also recognised the support he has received along the way. When asked if anyone had helped him, he said:
‘Pam, my emotional wellbeing support, who practised with me when we did the 5k run and everyone who has helped support me at National Star.’

It’s disturbing. Young people leaving care are being pushed straight into homelessness. They are living in fear, not knowing how they will survive. Some are being exploited by criminal gangs — this is reality. Many are battling serious mental health issues, making them even more vulnerable.
Support is cut off at 18 for many, and at 25 for others — but their problems don’t end there. These complex needs are ignored, leaving them to fend for themselves. This isn’t support. It’s abandonment.
