While President Trump pushes to weaken federal gun laws, California continues working to keep firearms out of the hands of people with violent histories and those who have been found to pose serious risks due to certain mental health conditions. Regardless of where you stand politically, reducing gun violence should mean strengthening measures that help keep guns away from people who are most likely to harm themselves or others.
