My attending once said, “If you don’t want to miss something, you have to know where look for it!”
Intracranial aneurysms may occur at many locations, but overwhelming at the ACOM & PCOMM. Look hard at these regions!
Remember, you miss 100% of aneurysms you don't look for!
Remember these two regions by always saying to yourself before you sign off any angiogram report:
"Always Please Communicate Aneurysms!"
Always = Anterior
Please = Posterior
Communicate = Communicating
Hopefully this will rupture any misconceptions about where to look for aneurysms!

I think if I had known how hard it was when I started, I wouldn’t have started at all 😂
Scrolling through a brain MRI is like driving down the road. There are signposts & check marks along the way.
These are some of the anatomic landmarks I check as I scroll through a brain MRI
These help you to orient yourself to the anatomy and help you to remember to look for pathology in small places.
Of course, these are not all the landmarks—it’s just a start.
I want to show more signposts that I stop by when reading a brain MRI—so follow along—I think all the extra work will be worth it!!
🛑It's imperative to know the structures of knee in detail on the lateral radiograph in order not to miss any pathology.....
For example pay close attention to Lateral vs Medial Condylopatellar sulci..etc
