MIRA joined the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Mechanism (BRITACOM) during the 5th Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Forum (BRITACOF) in Hong Kong on 24th September 2024. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Commissioner General of Taxation, Mr. Hassan Zareer, marking a significant milestone in enhancing international tax cooperation.

MIRA concluded a successful mission on Criminal Investigation by the Tax Inspectors Without Boarders (TIWB). During the closing event, MIRA launched the Tax Crime Mitigation Strategy, Tax Intelligence Framework and Investigation Manual. These resources mark a significant step forward in MIRA's continuous efforts in fighting tax crimes. This mission has been pivotal in enhancing our investigative capabilities and commitment to transparency.
We thank the TIWB, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Australian Tax Office (ATO) for facilitating this technical assistance program.
