Only Ukraine, a sovereign nation, should be able to determine its own future. Trump allowing Russia's illegal invasion to proceed unchecked threatens not just Ukraine, but democracies worldwide.
I'll continue to stand with the Ukrainian people in their fight for freedom.
It would be a shame to undo any part of #SB54. @AsmLuzRivas and others in the Assembly worked hard with stakeholders to ensure this bill would protect California from the damages of plastic pollution.
We need to move forward, not backward.
NEW: Impacted worker & Family Centers are opening across LA.
These centers are dedicated resource hubs for workers impacted by the fires.
On-site support for direct relief, employment resources, and other services will be available.

DEI stand for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
If someone says they oppose DEI, have them say it in its full terminology and ask which part they oppose the most and why.
Opposing an acronym is easy. Have them say each word out loud.

I just announced a commitment from major mortgage lenders to offer a 90-day grace period on mortgage payments for their customers impacted by the LA firestorm.
Devastated residents should be able to concentrate on their immediate needs, not worry about paying these bills.
I’m expanding our ongoing special session with the Legislature to provide Los Angeles with billions in funding for firestorm response and recovery efforts.
We’re moving quickly to help Angelenos who've lost their homes and schools to build back better.
Emergency shelters are open for Angelenos who have been evacuated due to these devastating fires.

Metro continues to operate. However, given the extraordinary demands on the power grid and sporadic outages, it is difficult for many to buy and load their TAP cards.
I have authorized Metro to suspend fare collection systemwide for the rest of the day.
Dangerous wind conditions have caused power outages in neighborhoods across the City.
@LADWP crews have prepared for this windstorm and are in the field working to restore power quickly and safely.

An additional evacuation order has been issued for Glenoaks Canyon residents (Zone 43 and 44).

As evacuation zones grow, if you have an electric vehicle, and your area still has power, make sure you’re fully charged in case you need to evacuate. Don’t get stuck, evacuate.
It is a reality & an important policy conversation we all need to have.

City Departments are mobilizing to actively assist with evacuations and traffic gridlock.
LAPD is currently on a Citywide tactical alert with personnel assigned to assist in the Pacific Palisades community. Traffic Control officers and Special Traffic Operations personnel from the Department of Transportation have also been deployed.
We ask Angelenos to stay off the roads in the area to ensure evacuations are completed and emergency vehicles are able to access the fire.
